RE: Centenarians
Grandpa's brother-in-law (who was at Appomattox) was three months short of living to be 100. You can find his story at the bottom of Grandpa's page. It's Levi McConkey.
What did you think of that cute little girl? That is my 15 minutes of fame.

Lauren Long
please read this
My name is Lauren Long, I am a relative of Dr. John Long.
I am only 26 And I was amazed to see the pictures of his grave and other relatives. I was taken to the cemetary as a child by my father John Long who.passed away last year. I know some people do not like to share their research but I would love to know anything about them. I have a book that a family member created on the Long family but It doesn't give alot of details. Any information would be appreciated but I do understand that is you're time and effort into research. Thank you

RE: Centenarians
I don't mind. I just found it ironic that you had that list.

I noticed your Virtual Cemetery entitled Centenarians. My G-Grandfather lived to be 104Y-4M-23D. When he turned 103, there was a party and an article done by The Toledo Blade. I was the two year old girl on his lap. We lived in the same house.

RE: McMullen Family of Charleston, Tallahatchie Co. MS
Hello Bea,
What a great name, my aunts name is Beatrice Arlene...funny yours should be that first name. She was my favorite aunt as well.
Anyway, yeah I was afraid of that guess I have hit the proverbial brick wall with them then. And I can't do anything about that either.
Thanks so much for keeping an eye out that would help a great deal, anyone with the last name of McMullen you can send my way. Cullen had 13 children born to him, not all born in the Tallahatchie Co. MS but they lived there from abt. 1846 to when ever they died. I believe his daughters mostly stayed there, Abigail, Sarah and Almedia. But then I am not sure that Almedia even married or even stayed there. I know that Sarah did and Abigail did for sure. Abigail became a Strider and Sarah married a cousin probably by the name of Jaan McMullen possibly he was one of his father's brother's son. But information on her fathers brother's are sketchy at least. Can't find much on them at all.
Thanks for your help,

McMullen Family of Charleston, Tallahatchie Co. MS
I know that this may sound like a long shot but here goes anyway. I have been doing genealogy for a very long time but recently took up a family's genealogy because my facebook friend just couldn't get through the brick walls and didn't know where to look for them at. The McMullen family were out of Greene Co. NC some say Rowan and some say Orange counties, but depending on things and how that changes at least I have some of them nailed down in Greene Co. NC. But Cullen (Cullin or Collen)McMullen takes off to Carroll Co. TN and then lands up in Charleston, Tallahatchie Co. MS around 1846 as his children with the exception of a couple of them are born in NC and TN and then the last of them are born right there in MS. So, needless to say I can't go to MS to look into their cemetery there because I am in Washington State, about 2,000 miles away. So is there anymore listed and not posted of the McMullen family or am I just beating a dead log going back to this cemetery looking for more McMullen family members? If a person owned a plantation was it a normal thing for them to burry their loved ones on that property if not put into the cemetery? I am not southern by birth so I do not know what they did there. Northerners did that so I could just assume that Southerners did the same thing, but then again I do not assume anything because it sure makes one look foolish if wrong. So if they are not at this Charleston cemetery is there another one there that they could be in? Let me know what you think?

Thanks so much for transferring my grandmother's page! If it will help you or isn't a problem, I can also manage pages for my grandfather, Ernest Brasher 34258797, and his parents James 25293321 and Laura Brasher 25293395.

Thank you :)
