"We don't "own" the memorials we manage - they are not ours. We may create them, we may update them, we may transfer them to others - we are but stewards. They are Find A Grave memorials of human beings, departed. They are not "friends" on a social media network website to be collected like baseball trading cards. And there's no prize for the one who dies with the most. |
The reward (for me) comes from maintaining the most accurate and dignified memorials I can. What we record becomes history, and a record in someone else's family tree. We have a responsibility to do a good job of it. It's a privilege and honor." -- Jeff Gonyea

I read your post, I agree with you I hate it when some have so many post and you send information to them and they never post it. I wish I could find information on all the memorials. We should all leave a little history about ourselves.
|Jan Rubenkoenig||George Washington Atwood|
Brian, can I get the picture removed from this memorial? Find A Grave Memorial# 5049873. It was erroneously identified as George Washington Atwood but is in fact George Washington Blackmon. The reason I know is because they are both my GGgrandfathers. I would hate for another researcher to think they had found a picture of G.W. Atwood or for a relative of G.W. Blackmon's to see it identified as G.W. Washington.
Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for the Yancey transfer
wondering how you felt about transfering the other Yancys in that same family??

|Falconer||Ellen Kelly Gleeson|
Mary E Gleeson Devine died in Yakamia, WA 22 Jun 1938. I have not located a burial ground. She Married Edward Devine on 10 Sep 1882 in Carroll, MO.
Charles Gleeson also died in Yakamia, WA 1 Jan 1939. Again have not found burial. He married Mary Alice Doyle c. 1891.
Ellen, Charles, and Mary Doyle would be proud that their grandson/son Franis Doyle was Bishop of Alaska. I have posted at his findagrave that Ellen is his mother (was in a hurry and didn't think). I did leave a note about my error. Please, update this findagrave so others may trace their roots.
My relationship to the family is my grandmother Nora Kelly Rinker was Ellen's niece.

Hi Brian I have just recently returned from a trip to Isaac M. Witten's grave at the Morrow cemetery. His grave is plainly marked and the name is Witten not Whitten as posted on the memorial you have up for him. Would you mind changing his last name to the proper spelling Witten. I put a photo up of his headstone on his memorial thank you so much Richard Hufford
