Isaac Atkinson - 413 306 07
I am trying to determine if there are two Isaac Atkinsons buried in Monroe County, OH. It is my understanding you provided the information used in the above mentioned memorial #. Would you provide any documentation that you have to support this information?

I have found that there is an Isaac Atkinson buried in Seneca Township, Monroe County, OH aged 81y 8m 20d died 7 Apr 1853 which shows that this Isaac was born during 1772 (picture of grave marker is provided in the memorial 153 188 903). My sources are the Hardesty book - 1882 and Atkinson Cemetery Information published in the "Navigator", Summer 2016 - page 30.

Any information would be helpful. I would like to link to his parents if we can clear this up. Thank you in advance for your assistance and consideration.

General Hardee
I see General Hardee was in Texas as was his son, my wife's family are Hardee's but hard to figure out if related to this general. Her family Hardee were from the Colorado City, Ira, Snyder Texas area. We got back as far as F.W. Hardee and Cinda Chapman Hardee. My wife say her great grandmother Cinda would never allow F. W. to talk about their past Hardee family, so we're at a stand still until someone can come up with something.
Thanks,
Randy Otis

William Overton (1638-97)
Hi Andrea,

This guy, William Overton (1638-97) is an 8th ggrandfather of mine through his daughter Temperance Overton Harris. I don't know if it is you or Lori Linnell I have to thank for the posts on his memorial on Findagrave, but thanks anyway for your contribution! Very helpful indeed.

It is mentioned in the memorial that he is buried in a cemetery (Cedar Hill in Hanover County, Va.) that is on the original 6000 acre grant of a Harris. Would you happen to know which Harris this was? Presumably, this Harris was related to the one Temperance married (I have him as Wm. Claiborne Harris, 1652-1730). I would love to confirm his identity as well as, hopefully, that of his father and grandfather. Living on the West Coast, I do not have much chance to get to Virginia.

Again, thanks for your work and the help it provides people like me.

RE: Henry Hertford Gardner and Effie Penelope Gardner
Hi Andrea,

As far as I am concerned, the Gardners are yours. I put them up as part of a project of photographing all of the then current graves in Oakwood cemetery. As far as I currently know, I am not related to them (of course, in Surry co. EVERYONE is probably related if you go back far enough), so feel free to take over administration of your relatives.

Sincerely,

Anne G.

RE: Frank Charles Winstead Sr.
I have to tell you that my favorite "creative" family record is my grandparent's original marriage certificate. Someone (I assume my dear grandmother) wanted to hide the fact she and my grandfather were married almost 2 years after my mother was born (they were both married to others at the time--I know, scandalous!!--and guess it took a while to get divorced). Anyway, this beautiful handwritten certificate had the date so very carefully changed from 1935 to 1933...only problem was that she used a different ink that faded after so many years. Oops! :)

Just shows that our ancestors were human...and we love them, warts and all!

Hi Andrea. Thanks for the input. I've pulled my comment. As I'm indexing original records (for familysearch.org) if I have time I try to check FG to see if I can provide additional info that might be helpful to a researcher. And I understand...I have a whole handful of documents from my own family that were, to put it mildly, "creative". :)

Have a wonderful week!
