|Mary Andersen||RE: Brewer|
No problem. My email is firstname.lastname@example.org We could share info that way. I also have a Brewer website at http://www.isaacbrewer-familyhistory.com/ Feel free to check out what I've got posted on there so far. So much more I need to post still, but...

I guess I visited with you already recently about one of the Brewers... I just noticed that you had posted that Howell Cobb Brewer is your 4 greats grandfather. I am a direct descendant of his uncle Howell Brewer Jr, then Isaac Brewer, then Jacob Fletcher Brewer etc. Anyway, I have started a Brewer Ancestry group on facebook. I was wondering if you would like to join it. I'd like to get a few cousins together on there to share info and photos together and discuss various Brewer ancestors. Please let me know if you are on facebook and would like to be a part of our new group. It's fun to have an easy way to stay in contact with relatives and share info. Thanks, Mary Andersen

Do you by any chance know how John C "Black Snake" Brewer got his nickname? I assumed that maybe he was a shady character which rather fascinated me, but then I learned he was a baptist minister so my theory no longer seems likely. I read a little blurb on ancestry.com about one time when another Brewer relative was at his house and the two of them got to talking religion and got into a heated argument. The relative's little girl became so scared that she wanted to her dad to take her home! But it was too dark to safely get down off the mountain. So maybe John was just a rather passionate man when it came to his preaching, and that's where he got his nickname? Any ideas?
