If you see cemetery view pictures, chances are I have taken more photo's. If you do not see the headstone you are looking for, please contact me, I might have it!

I have been doing family tree research for over thirty years.

My Family Tree is also on Ancestry.com.

RE: Unresponsive Gravers
Hi again,

Just to give you some more answers; if you believe the member is deceased or truly no longer active on this site, you would send an e-mail to the Find A Grave "info" address, at this link in the FAQ's -

http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?searchArg=fallen&page=listFaqs#158

Make sure you include the member's number and/or a link to their member page.

Once the admins determine that member is no longer active, they would take over maintaining the memorials.

This is also the same e-mail address you would request "Stewardship" (management) if you'd like to manage ALL of a member's memorials.

There have been a lot, and I mean many, many - updates and changes to the FAQ's in recent months - mostly due to Find A Grave's partnership with Ancestry and the new system for sending "Edits", but I invite you to re-read them. Mostly they make sense. :) And if they don't, feel free to leave me a message or to post your questions in the "General - Help" thread in the Forums. Members can answer you in the help thread but they cannot respond to anything in the Ask An Admin thread. (You'll get an answer much sooner in the Help thread.)

I hope this too helps.

Emily

Help with your Request for Transfer of another memorial
Hi there. I saw your post in the forums about requesting a transfer and getting no response and I thought I could help.

As per the Find A Grave rules (FAQ's), required transfers are for those relationships that are "direct, in-line, within 4 generations". That means, Siblings, Parents, Grandparents, Great-grandparents. And going the other direction - Your kids, Grandkids and Great-grandkids.

Your Aunt would not qualify as a "required" transfer.

Just FYI - All transfers are allowed but those that are not "direct, in-line, within the 4 gen rule" are not "required" but at the discretion of the memorial manager.

To request your transfer, you must use the Edit tab on the memorial (not leave a message on their message page) then click on the "Suggest Any Other..." option. Check the little box to send yourself a copy of this request. State that you'd like a transfer and you need to state your EXACT relationship (just stating that this is a family member is not what's required). Then click submit.

It's always a good idea to include whatever info you'd like to add to the memorial in case your request is not granted. At least the manager can then add the info to the memorial.

Once you send this, the manager has 30 days to respond (again, as per Find A Grave rules). If they don't respond after this 30 day period, you would forward your copy of the request to the Find A Grave e-mail address found in the FAQ's (it's Edit (a-t) Find A Grave dot com). (If the manager declines to transfer before the 30 day period is up, you do not have to wait to forward your request to the Edit e-mail address.)

Once you forward to Edit, you have to wait for the admins to make the decision. It can take days, weeks or even months; although, they do seem to be getting to their e-mails a little more quickly than in the past.

Put the memorial in a VC. The manager (or the admins) may not respond to you but may just make the additions/updates. Saving it in a VC makes the memorial easier to find and check on.

I hope this helps.

Regards,
Emily

Re: Abraham Leasure, Sr.
Pam, I sent you an article from another contributor via separate e-mail. It is the first time I've tried this so please let me know if you received it or not. It is from gnar73 and his research efforts of the Anston-Reese Family Tree and the Merriman-Leasure line. Hope this helps. Best, Brent

RE: Kenneth E Kazda
It is not a family member. I've been going through the applications for headstones for veterans in Ancestry.com and adding records or supplementing existing ones with basic info that I can find.

I don't know if you've heard or tried this website but if you google OLD FULTON NY POSTCARDS there's a ton on the murder investigation surrounding poor Peter. according to the articles his death took place on July 20, 1957

Re: Abraham Leasure, Sr.
Pamela, Per your request for source info, birth date (1695) is from U.S. and International Marriage Records, 1560-1900 (Ancestry.com) ; death date is from Family Data Collection-Death (Ancestry.com)as well as documented research by Mr. Charles Leasure Sarver for his application for membership in U.S. Sons of the American Revolution and Huguenot Society. Hope this helps! Best, Brent

RE: The Zimmerman's
Glad we were able to get the photo before another snow storm. While there, we placed 2 stones on the tombstone.

Pinecrest Cemetery
I see you have recently added some memorials for Pinecrest Cemetery in Lake Worth. I was wondering if you are working on any particular sections. With the weather cooling down finally I hope to get back there to take more pictures, but I don't want to be duplicating your work. Thanks
