Bio and Links
Bio Photo I still have pain but am going to PT now and getting some motion back. I'm typing with both hands for a limited time each day, so will be on a bit more. :-)

I would like to thank all of you for your wonderful notes and prayers. I am so grateful for all my FAG friends; you sustain me during my most painful hours. Thank you again!!

I have been researching my genealogy for many years and now have over 12,000 people in my database. We have a large private genealogy website; if you believe you are part of my extended family, please contact me!

I am now in the process of adding the over 2,000 family members and ancestors I have found who were murdered in the Holocaust. This will take me quite a while, especially for Auschwitz & Sobibor, but I will continue until they are all memorialized. They are in my virtual cemeteries. So far over 900 have been added. (I only ask that you please not leave them any Christian symbols.) My deepest gratitude to each and every one who has so kindly visited these murdered souls. "Never Again."

I currently live in Manassas, VA, not far from Washington, DC. I do enjoy photographing grave markers for YOU, especially at Stonewall Memory Gardens, since it's pretty close to my home. I will also travel to National Memorial Park/King David/Noah's Ark Cemeteries if you have a request in any of those, although it is a bit of a drive and I don't go quite as often as I go to Stonewall.

Feel free to add photos to my memorials any time, as long as you have taken them yourself and have not copied them from obituaries. Thanks!!

I am happy to make additions, corrections and family links, and am always grateful for additional information you can send. Please send them using the EDIT feature on the memorial page. I will act on all additions, etc. within 24 hours, if possible. Please don't put them in my "Message" section.

I would so appreciate if you would stop by my beloved dad's memorial and leave a token so I know you've been there. I lost him in 2011 and the pain is still so great. Thank you so much to those who have already visited him. I have also listed three of my special animal babies & a very special cousin; they would love to see you too. I miss them all. Thank you so very much.

I hope you will also have time to stop by some of my virtual cemeteries. The first 4 are listings of memorials for our own F.A.G. members' children, spouses, siblings, & our fallen F.A.G. members themselves. I think these people deserve special visits, as they are our families too.

****************************

The tokens I make come from my heart. I am honored when I see them placed on memorials by YOU. My only request is that you please don't alter them. Thanks!

****************************

Your tombstone stands among the rest
Neglected and alone
The name and date are chiseled out
On polished marble stone
It reaches out to all who care
It is too late to mourn
You did not know that I exist
You died and I was born
Yet each of us are cells of you
In flesh, in blood and bone
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
Entirely not our own
Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
One hundred years ago
Spreads out among the ones you left
Who would have loved you so
I wonder if you lived and loved
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot
And come to visit you

RE: Your Dad
Doesn't surprise me. The Find A Grave Gestapo probably didn't like a spelling or something. It has done that to me before.

RE: Johanna Blok
Yes, there was a testimonial record for Johanna, which is how I learned who her parents were. Unfortunately, I didn't save it. And sure, take whatever you want. If you want the parents transferred to you, just send me SACs so I have the links.

Best,
Bernadette

Lucy Skidmore Scribner
I looked up Lucy on Wikipedia and was able to find out the names of her parents and grandparents. With that info I looked at my Skidmore book "Thomas Skidmore etc. written by Emily C. Hawley in 1911 (Lucy's mother was named Lucy Ann Hawley). Elnathan and Lucy's common ancestor is John Skidmore of Jamaica Long Island (1643-1680). Elnathan is descended from the eldest son and first born child of John, John Jr. (d.1741)-moved to Stratford, Conn., and Lucy is descended from the second child and second son Samuel (D.1733)- stayed on Long Island. So there we have it, they are indeed related, just very distantly! Lucy is specifically named in the Skidmore book, where Elnathan is not. The Last listing for his branch is his grandfather Isaac Skidmore (1780-1842) son of Elnathan (1744-1801) from Fairfield, Conn. It seems the compiler wasn't aware or not in touch with Isaac's descendants who ended up in Michigan. I have a book published in 1906 (privately?) titled "The Descendants and Relatives of Isaac Skidmore" that details this branch - it was later used as reference material in a book called "The Lull Book" by Hilah Violet Eddy - Detroit 1926 (Isaac Skidmore's wife was Sarah (Lull) Skidmore. Well this message is long enough - Bye for now. Adam

Elnathan J. Skidmore
I just ordered and received an obituary from the Stockbridge Historical/Genealogical society for Elnathan J. Skidmore - the man whose memorial you transferred to me. I just got done transcribing it into his bio section on his memorial page. He was a pretty accomplished gentleman. Thanks again for the transfer. Adam
