For the past two years Ken has been unable to continue his FAG work he really loved. I have 'adopted' his memorials and have been making links, doing necessary corrections, additions, etc. With Ken's death on March 28th, I am now going to continue as best I can with his memorials. I plan to honor his memory by keeping his name on any new memorials I may add. |
On this note I would be glad to make corrections, additions, relationship links, etc. upon request. I will also be glad to transfer management of a memorial according to the following guidelines by Find A Grave.
"Transfer requests should be for DIRECT RELATIVES WITHIN FOUR GENERATIONS, THIS WOULD BE YOUR SIBLINGS, PARENTS, GRANDPARENTS, AND GREAT-GRANDPARENTS. Keep in mind that the original contributor may also be related the the memorial and may not want to make the transfer.
Also, please provide memorial numbers for those transfers you are requesting and your relationship with them.

Ruth, thank you so much for accepting the information I gave you.
Bless you for going forward at what must be a very difficult time to continue and keep Kenneth's work alive on this site. A big thank you for taking good care of his memorials.

Ruth, without finding my records, I used the 1910 St. Claire Co. Ill. census and his Harris Co. Tx. death record State #27902 for 1941

I was wondering how you managed to connect this individual born in 1840 to a mother who died in 1837?

Thanks for the transfer Ruth, I am trying to update quite a few so this gives me a bit more information to dig for as well.
|Michael Barksdale||RE: Louis Barksdale|
Louis Barksdale was my gt gt grandfather's older brother.
Since this memorial was transferred to me I haven't gotten around to updating the biography.
The information I have is that in 1879 Louis moved from Washington Co. IN. to Marshall Co., KS., where he married Elizabeth Turley on July 24, 1881. They had two daughters, Catherine Drewzilla born in 1882, and Etta Mae born April 11, 1885. Louis's wife Elizabeth died in April 1885, when Catherine (Katie) was 2-1/2 and Etta was six weeks old. Etta Mae was raised by her mother's sister in Marhall Co., KS. near where she was born. In the Spring of 1890, Louis and his daughter Catherine, and a nephew Sam Beryl moved to Illinois and settled near his brother Samuel Barksdale. Louis married Effie Holstlaw on Sep 10, 1891 in Marion Co.,IL.
I hope this information will help you. I feel guilty that I haven't done more with Louis's Memorial; but your inquiry may get me in gear.
All the Best......Mike
I added the information about Isaac's mother to his memorial. Unfortunately, the cemetery where she's at is still the same as when you visited it. The church it was affiliated with is no longer and I believe its the kindness of neighbors who keep the grass cut.

I'm descended from Joseph Phillis. My sister and I are members of NSDAR, and have submitted supplemental applications to be approved as descendants of Joseph. He's already an NSDAR Ancestor # A090840. We should hear soon if we're approved so..... wish us luck!
Even though the Stoelzing family is not in a direct line for me, I find the information contained in the memorials quite informative and interesting. Thanks for the hard work. Kathyrn
