Bio Photo I live to walk cemeteries and snap photos. My dad got me interested in cemeteries as a little girl when he took me around all the old cemeteries in his home town located in Essex County, MA. The older the cemetery the more wonderful the history those markers possess but I love all cemeteries. I can spend hours upon hours strolling around a cemetery. I think being a Civil War historian also brings about a love of cemeteries as I enjoy strolling through the cemeteries and finding graves of the Civil War veterans and taking a second or two to just remember them.
I want to thank everyone who has sent me additional information for any memorials I have added. You don't know how much I appreciate this. Being able to add more info. and/or complete a memorial means the world to me. Thank you all again.

PLEASE, we can only ask that a search be done before adding someone because the person may already be listed and dupes are not allowed per: F.A.G. guidelines. Also, please do not link the living with a deceased spouse/child I may have added as I've had several people contact me upset to find their memorial listed here when they were very much still alive and doing well.
I believe that everyone should be remembered and I believe in everyone having a nicely written, respectable memorial. I try to give that familial touch to each memorial I add, when possible. I often work with obituaries and I prefer my submissions read like a memorial to the person and not an obituary cut and pasted straight out of a newspaper therefore I do not copy obits verbatim simply because the admins don't care for them. I will usually tweak them just a tad to make for a more interesting memorial. Also, we do not have to reside where we post memorials! We are free to add from anywhere we chose and I may not reside in my second home, YET, but I will be back there very soon and until then I do what I can for my beloved borough so that I can at least be there in spirit and close to my family/friends who are there now. Just sorry that YOU can't understand that and instead choose to be so childish about it!!!

Quoting another FAG contributor and agreeing.

"I think it is a real shame what FindAGrave has evolved into. What started as a noble way to link people with graves of loved ones they could never hope to see, and with the generations that had preceded them, has turned into a game for some. Memorials have turned into a kind of "trading card", a competition of who can own the most memorials and post the highest numbers and enter the memorial first!! What has been forgotten by many is that these were people, loved in life and death, not a commodity to be traded or owned.
With my apologies to those that have pure motives. I hope there are more of us than there are of them".
Or a game of getting back at others, as well, instead of trying to work with one another, you chose to work against each other. If only we could all start from scratch and just get along think how wonderful this site would be?

Please feel free to ask for a transfer of a memorial, if you like. Sometimes I may even transfer without being asked.
~~~Please, when asking for a transfer, state how you are related to the individual. Just asking for the memorial to be transferred will get no response~~~ Mass transfers, with someone who simply shares your last name, are one thing but I have no problem transferring a memorial, if the reason is good. The F.A.G. guidelines are just that, guidelines, but if the person is related to or just meant a lot to you, just ask.
If you encounter an error/dupe on my part or would like to summit further information to a memorial, please use the SAC feature located in the top right corner on each memorial to notify me. I am always happy to make corrections, add information or add relationship links. Burials represent those who were once living and need to I get dozens of emails per day and am not ignoring anyone, simply moving my way through the emails :-)
As a member of the defunct "county keeper" program, I do not possess administrative abilities to do anything with someone else's memorials. I still, however, try to keep cemeteries and/or memorials straight in the county I currently reside in. Deletions, if not dealt with by the originating contributor, or merges of cemeteries/memorials/photos are handled by admins only.
Please know that I'm here to help in any way I can.
