I live in Los Angeles, CA.|
I will transfer NON-family memorials according to Find-A-Grave rules.
I will be more than happy to update memorials. I am not always able to make updates daily but I do get to them, usually within a few days unless I am out of town.
You may copy my photos. All I ask is that you give me credit for them. EX: Photo courtesy of Jane Morrison
~A Poem for our Ancestors~
Your tombstone stands among the rest
Neglected and alone
The name and date are chiseled out
On polished marble stone
It reaches out to all who care
It is too late to mourn
You did not know that I exist
You died and I was born
Yet each of us are cells of you
In flesh, in blood and bone
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
Entirely not our own
Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
One hundred years ago
Spreads out among the ones you left
Who would have loved you so
I wonder if you lived and loved
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot
And come to visit you

Thanks for the speedy reply!
Darn, how disappointing. My search continues.
How did you get access to the 1920 Census? Is there a URL you can send me?
|Margie Pearce||Mrs.. Jerry Ferris|
I have the obit you sent, but it is not for the child listed on James Hunter's tombstone in Oakland Cemetery, Bremer Co, IA. That child only lived 1 month, 30 days. Permella Anna Hunter, wife of Jerry Ferris, is buried in Messenger Cemetery, same county, but thanks for contributing.

Hello! (Love that poem on your bio).
Re this memorial: You seem to have quite a bit of info on this group of Schultes.
I believe that John is father to Walter John Schulte, who is also buried at Holy Cross. (#105203003). I think John Peter might be my daughter's paternal great-grandfather.
Would you happen to have any additional info for John?
(I was married to Walter J Schulte Jr. My ex knows nothing of his father's family, which is quite unfortunate. I'm trying to establish connection on behalf of my daughter).

Hello Jane, you are the contributor for this memorial. I have found 3 of his sisters who died as very young children. This is a family whose parents were from Ireland/England, came to San Francisco. The father is listed as a miner and the family listed on the 1880 census for Havilah, Kern County, CA. The little girls were born at Havilah and are buried at the cemetery there. I am attempting to locate their family and link them. Their father is Timothy Canty who died in Bakersfield CA 1893 memorial #116079178. I have submitted an edit for John Joseph Canty to link his father. I have been unable to locate their mother. I can tell that their mother moved to the Los Angeles area and she passed in Aug 1915. Another brother James Downey Canter passed in Los Angeles area in 1905. I know it is a long shot but I wondered if you might be willing to look around the cemetery where John Joseph Canty is buried. Perhaps their mother and other brother is there. I have been unable to locate the death records also. The mother's name was Ellen Canty her maiden name is listed as Kerrigan. I'm not positive that is the correct spelling that's just the way I saw it listed. Thank you much for all you do at Find A Grave. Gwen Gathings Armstrong.

Your name was close to the daughter of this person. There is so much good information there beyond the pictures. John was my grandmother's first cousin (John's father was my great grandfather's twin brother). Are you related to him (or is someone you know) who knew so much information?

You might check Sleepy Eye library too. Another place to check is the Brown County Historical Center in New Ulm. You can see some of what they have indexed online. Click the link on the "Research Library" tab. There was an obituary for a Lendt but not John.
I'm not from the area otherwise I'd check. Good luck.

Happy to do it. In case you didn't notice, I added a caption to the full monument photo which list all four people on it. The fourth was John Lendt whom I created a memorial for. If you'd like it transferred just let me know.
I fixed the death date for Maria. Typo.

I have noticed that you live here in SoCal and you have requests for Holy Cross. The next time I go there, I will search for you.. If you can get the locations by calling them, that would be helpful but if you cannot, that's OK..
