" To be ignorant of what occurred before you were born is to be perpetually a child. For what is the worth of human life unless it is woven into the life of our ancestors by the records of history? " Marcus Tullius Cicero 106-43 B.C.|
I have always enjoyed walking cemeteries and reading headstones. Some of my fondest memories are visiting my family cemeteries with my Grandma and listening to family stories.
My family members tell me to leave those dead people alone. I just laugh and tell them it is not the deceased people I worry about it's the living. I have 16 Ancestors laid to rest in the Antioch Cemetery in Hartshorn, Texas, Misssouri and believe others may be there also. I have not found records or headstones for these family members. My family interests are Barlet,Black, Cole, Counts, Dye, Graham, Huskey, Hensley, Keith, Kendrick, Morgan, Shaw, Springer, Stringer, Sullivan and related families in Texas, Dent, Jefferson, Shannon, Iron, Washington, Franklin and Reynolds counties of Missouri.
I lived in Idaho for many years. I met many wonderful people who I call my Idaho family. You may find their memorials here.
I am always open to making changes or corrections on memorials I have created.

I'm wondering if you've ever heard anything about a Franklin County burial of someone apparently related to Susan Angeline, wife of William Newton Jasper. The burial would have been at New Friendship Cemetery (where Jacob and Emma are buried, among others). If you've not been to this cemetery, it has a "short wall" of concrete and stone around it. This burial is supposedly outside the wall, in line with the row in which Jacob, Emma, Elsie Mae and Lillie are buried.
Frankly, I didn't believe it until I went there last weekend. I walked down that row towards the wall and as I approached it, I found a bunch of iris blooming, just a short distance from the wall. There weren't any other flowers anywhere else outside that wall.
If you're unaware, my grandmother, Ethel, was known for iris and the story I heard is that she planted these there to honor whoever is buried there.
I've been checking all the sources I can find--the historical society, the cemetery society, all the relatives left breathing!, and I can't find anyone who knows about this...at least not yet!
One person said it was Susan, herself, but we know she's at Boeuff, so that can't be right! (Surely they wouldn't have buried her here and erected her stone there!)
Any thoughts would be appreciated!

I am wondering if you are like a lot of people on Find A Grave who are not aware of the new EDIT Tab on your contributor page, Find A Grave has not told anyone, but when someone sends you a correction or addition you no longer automatically receive an E Mail notification, but under your edit tab it will show you how many edits you have been sent by clicking on the tab you can view the edits and either accept them or decline them.
Hope this makes sense. Find A Grave is supposed to send out a message, but hasn't yet.

I'm in St. Louis County, MO. Do you know anything about Sarah Agnes Westerman Norris? She is Shannon Norris's wife. He is buried at Atushka Cemetery The same as Mary etta Smith. She is my Great Aunt.
How about a George Washington Cole? One of his brothers is Hartshorn Cole, who Hartshorn, MO was named after. He married Louisa Jane Westerman a sister to Sara. The family says he was killed over a ballgame. His wife and 4 kids ended up in Dewey, Oklahoma
Anything you can give me would be appreciated. Do I have anything that would fill in some blanks for you. Please let me know.
I was born and raised at Raymondville, MO

Hi, I don't know if you remember me. We met once or twice, many years ago. I'm Tom's sister. I joined this site a few months back, and I am slowly adding information to family memorial pages. I finally added some photos and bio to Tom. I haven't finished my mom's page yet. I'm still learning how all of this works, but love being a part of the site. I just wanted to say hello.

I thought I would let you know that now not only will I be able to work on things like Findagrave at work but I have now down loaded the Findagrave app to my android phone and change my E-mail address to the one on my phone too. This way if I am not in the office I am usually where my phone is.

I have ran into a problem. At the end of June my doctor informed me that I am having memory problems. My doctor has been able to prescribe what I call memory medicine which seems to be helping. Somehow I have forgotten what our conversation was about in June the 2nd. Could you remind me?

I just found a memorial for Joseph William Carver, son of Joseph Daniel and Nancy Guill Carver, for which you have memorials and thought you might be interested.
It's # 90826690

I just found the Birth record of Joseph on Ancestry. The actual page where it is recorded, with parent's names, etc.
He was born in Wayne County, Kentucky. I knew this before as he was the brother to my husband's Great Grandfather. He was born before they migrated to Missouri. He was born in 1853, not 1855 as the family might thought.
I will notify the family members I know.
