I am D. Bradley (Brad) York. I have been doing family history research since I was a teenage boy in 1962. That means I have been doing this sort of thing for 50 years now.
If I can help you in any way, let me know. I consider ownership of a memorial, photograph, or any other family history data to be for the good of all. I freely share all that I have for the betterment of all genealogy.
My El Paso County, Colorado - WWII Casualties project.
There were 200 casualties of WWII that had connection to Colorado Springs, El Paso County, Colorado. They died anywhere from Normandy to Okinawa, from Africa to Hawaii, from France to the Philippines. Not all died in the heat of battle or a as direct cause of the war. However, they all ‘laid a costly sacrifice upon the altar of freedom'. They all were sons, or brothers, or husbands. They all were loved and lost.
These are the statistics:
* KIA: 138 * FOD: 9 * DOW: 9 * DNB: 44
NOTE: KIA = Killed in Action FOD = Finding on Death. This is a military term that basically means the military knows the person died, but does not have the specific date of death, and/or does not have a body to prove the death. DOW = Died of Wounds received in battle. DNB = Died Non Battle. | |

 | RE: Roscoe and Flossie Tyler Brad,
Glad I could help. Please feel free to use the pictures as you see fit. Also, if you are a family member or know someone who is, I'll be glad to transfer the pictures to them.
Mt Vernon is a small cemetery, so while I was there I took photo's of all the readable marker. There are probably 10 or so that have no names on them.
