I was born in southwest Iowa and currently live in a suburb of Omaha, Nebraska. Both sides of my family have strong "roots" in Fremont and Page County, Iowa, which is where I've taken the majority of the photos I've added to FindAGrave. Civil War veterans in SW Iowa and the 4th Iowa Cavalry are recent interests.|
Simply taking a picture of a headstone is difficult for me. I use various sources to fill in the dash between the dates. If I've made mistakes feel free to send me corrections, or additions. I know that exact dates and places of birth and death, family relationships, obituaries, burial plots, etc. can be important sources of information. I will add information to any memorial I've created. I am more than willing to transfer memorials if they are not my relatives.
If I didn't create a memorial but did upload a photo of the headstone, click on the headstone photo for additional information. I've given up on suggesting edits and/or corrections to the creator of the memorial.
Anyone may use any of my headstone photos from Find A Grave for their own family research.

Thank you for the transfer of Malinda Jane and Henry Kinley Shoop. I did have a copy of Henry's obituary but had not found one for Malinda. Thank you so much for creating their memorial pages and a special thanks for Malinda's Obituary.

Forgive me if I failed to send you a response to your message to me after I took the picture of Charles' marker in the Mt. Hope Cemetery. I hope you have already used the picture. It was nice to ask, but you certainly don't need my permission. I'm thankful to have the opportunity to help people with their research. I have a Charles Robinson, in my family who served in WW I, but your Charles, is not connected. Good luck with the work you and your friend are doing for civil war veterans. Ken

Kathy, please disregard the unknown request. That was not a true request. Usually, the edit to add a parent doesn't include the wife, that is already attached, memorial number. I back space it out so that it wouldn't duplicate it. Thanks for noticing and asking. Yes, she is his wife..let's keep her!
Thank you so much for fulfilling my photo request! I appreciate your time and efforts very much. :)

Hi, I and one of the workers at the cemetery found the lot and marker showing that the plot was 428 but there is no head stone or any kind of marker showing that he is buried there sorry. I wish I had better news for you.

There is a lot of tombstones in the general area that are hard to read. I try to take some and figure out who they are. I know I looked at his before.
I counted from a known tombstone. Some have numbers on the back. Sometimes they trick you by adding in an extra one. :-)
