Bio and Links
Bio Photo There seems to be a FLAW in the way the new edits are being done, spouses are coming up in bright RED UNKNOWN, when in FACT it is RIGHT, I have had this happen when I send edits also, hopefully this can be fixed. I have been saving the spouse # and re-adding it after the edit is done.

PLEASE use the EDIT to ask for transfers, with your ID # and the PHOTO REQUEST if you want a photo of the stone for EACH person listed. I try to get other family near the one requested in case they are not already listed, but if they are already listed it is nice if you also request them. I print off the requests from the computer, and the "notes" don't show if you ask for other family members. If there are a lot of requests only the ones listed might be taken when it's a quick stop. You have my permission to use my photos of the stones for your family records.

It is my wish that everyone is remembered, this is my way of helping make it happen. We all will make mistakes, I'm happy to make changes and transfer loved ones always hoping that you can add to their memorials. I just want to help, when I find more information and send an edit, it is sad when that isn't added. I am so thankful for the ones that put family of ours on, some we had no idea where were, so you can see what a blessing Find A Grave has been.

I know it's important to have "facts", some think an official document such as birth, marriage or death certificate is correct. Sadly that is NOT always correct. There will always be conflicting information. Don't get upset when there is an error, just do your best to try to have it corrected, when there is another source, add the information in a note for one or the other. Try to always be nice, this site is great to help find our roots and follow all the branches. :)

RE: Tryon Obits
Resent Daniel's obit. Let me know if you don't get it. Lucius' is a different story. His memorial is administered by:

Created by: Swiss Ms
Record added: Feb 19, 2013
Find A Grave Memorial# 105498432

There's two problems there. First, she has disabled her messages so I can't write and let her know why I sent Lucius' obit to her -- twice. Second, the headstone pictures that are attached to his memorial belong to Daniel & Joseph (the same pictures you have). Then I noticed you attached them to Lucius' memorial or were the contributor of the photos. Also, I don't know where the middle name of Hicks comes from (I think all the boys middle initial is "H"). I'm not saying it's right or wrong, I just never came across Hicks.

Maybe you know of some 'secret' way to contact Swiss Ms or how to attach his obit. In the event you do (or have other ideas) here's his obit:

Courier Tribune Nov 18, 1929

Death of L. H. Tryon

Lucius H. Tryon, 75, a resident of Seneca more than 45 years ago, died Thursday evening at Watonga, Okla. The body was brought to Seneca Sunday night for burial beside his parents and other relatives in the city cemetery. He was married in Seneca about 1884 to Mrs. Mary Gilson. Henry Gilson of Seneca and George Gilson, Centralia, two sisters and two brothers who live elsewhere are step-children of the deceased. There are five brothers, Smith and Joe Tryon, Seneca; Taylor, John and Dan Tryon, who live elsewhere. Mr. Tryon’s death was due to stomach trouble. Mr. Tryon after his marriage lived in Butler and Chase counties. His wife, Mrs. Mary Gilson Tryon, died in Cottonwood Falls, 23 years ago. The funeral services this afternoon were held from the Lauer Funeral Home with the pastor of the M. E. church, Rev. L. B. Pruitt, in charge.

Tryon Obits
Sent the obits for Eliza, Aaron, Daniel, Lucius, and Smith Tryon using the 'Edit' method you suggested. Please let me know if you can't see or read them. I hope the information is useful to someone.

RE: Memorial# 107872513
I'm sorry -- I don't understand. SAC? Not sure what/who they are or how I would contact them.

I'm not related (DNA test) and am surprised with all the active Tryon researchers who have contacted me through the years, that no one has contacted you and asked to take over their memorials. In fact a Tryon descendant just contacted me the other day -- which is what brought me to Stephen's memorial. (Maybe he would be interested -- I'll mention it to him.)

If there's an easy way to add the obits, I'd be more than happy to do it. If someone wants them so they can add them, they are more than welcome to contact me.

Sorry this has resulted in taking up so much of your time. I hate when things get complicated.

Thank you for making the correction for Stephen Tryon so quickly! I know I, along with many others, rely heavily on the family connection information found on Find A Grave. It's a lot of work and much appreciated. In addition to the obits I mentioned, I do have obits for Aaron Tryon and Eliza(Gilman) Tryon if you're interested in adding them. They are typed up and sourced (name/date of paper). Believe I still have the images, somewhere.

Thanks again,

Arthur Work Pangburn
Dear Ms. Hinrichsen,
Thank you for the suggested edit for Arthur Work Pangburn (adding his father). Are you related to him? He was my Great Grandmother's second husband (whom she loved very much).

If you're one of his descendants, please let me know so I can transfer his memorial page to you.

Memorial# 107872513
Luella -- Just an FYI, Stephen A. Tryon, Memorial# 107872513, b. 1887 d. 1970, buried in Seneca City Cemetery, is not a son of Aaron Tryon and Eliza Gilman. He is their Grandson. Stephen's parents are Balis Tryon and Mary V. Persival (sp?).

Eliza was born in 1827 and would have been 59-60 yrs old when Stephen was born in 1887. The 1900 census lists Stephen with his parents, Balis and Mary.

Stephen is not listed as a brother in Lucius' 1929 obit -- "There are five brothers, Smith and Joe Tryon, Seneca; Taylor, John and Dan Tryon, who live elsewhere."

Nor is he named in Daniel's 1933 obit: "There was quite a family of the Tryon sons and four still survive; T. H. of Robinson, J. H. and Smith Tryon of Seneca, and John Tryon of Stratton, Colorado. One brother and two sisters died years ago."

Nor is he named in Smith's 1934 obit: "Of the family, three brothers survive. Taylor of Robinson who is near ninety; John of Colorado and Joe of the home. Mrs. Mary Tryon of Seneca is a sister-in-law, the widow of Bayles Tryon."

Hope this helps.

I will always add obits because they are a great resource. I've just got too many projects on my plate right now and I'm trying to get some of them done. Slow, but sure and accurate.

RE: Nancy Wells
Hi Luella, and thank you. My cousin and I recently were trying to find our Great Grandmother's siblings and we found Joseph Bradford Morton first and I started working quickly on his family. I did send a correction to the owner of Eleanor and John McCaslin's only son Charles T. McCaslin in Washington State and his first child Annabelle who he had with Charlotte Wood, and it also buried in Washington state. I really appreciate all the work being done to find families. Thank you Luella!

RE: Carl Ferdinand Vogt
Thank you Luella!

My mom, who was raised by her grandparents (who were Carl's parents) until she was 6 never knew they had lost an infant son until I found his memorial.

Thank you again for managing his memorial page and linking him to his family!
