I came across the findagrave website by accident one day while looking up my wife's obituary. I didn't know that it existed and was touched how someone had put in her obituary on the site. So I felt the need to help out other's as I can. |
My wife Tammy Vance Alberthal is buried in the Boerne City Cemetery along with our first dog Oscar.
I retired from working in June 2012. Now I spend my time volunteering at several organizations and going to cemeteries to take pictures then update them on Find a Grave. I have walked and uploaded tombstone pictures of the entire Boerne City Cemetery, Mission Park Cemetery in San Antonio (except for inside the mausoleum), Holy Cross Cemetery in San Antonio, Der Stadt Friedhof (City Cemetery) and Saint Mary's Catholic Cemetery both in Fredericksburg. I go by and check the mausoleum at Mission Park every now and then but have not found it open.
I'm not a numbers person -- for memorials that I add, I try to find the obituary for the individual and add it to the memorial as well as a picture of the person (and give credit where I found it). I believe everyone has a story and needs to be told to keep their memory alive and for future generations to see.
Don't be afraid to ask for transfers for anybody. I am totally for it and hope others would do the same for me.
My photos are free to anyone who wants to copy them for non-profit purposes, no need to ask. Just say it was from me! I give credit where I found photos on memorials that I add if they are not related to me.

Could you transfer my Aunt Eileen Nelson and Uncle L. C. Nelson to me 137354963 and 137354930 so that they can be put with my mom and Eileen's parents info. Thank you.

Thank you so much for all of the work you do. I have looked for my Aunt Allie's grave foe many years. She is buried at the Mission Burial Park North, San Antonio. How can I get a picture of her head stone. I wasn't able to make out what was on it. There seems to be a saying on top of her side. Would be happy to make a donation to you.God Bless You. Linda Roth my email is email@example.com thanks!

You were so incredibly kind to transfer maintenance of my mom's memorial over to me, Mark! I don't know how I could ever repay you for all that you have done, not just for me but for everyone whose loved ones you have memorialized on this site.

It has meant the world to me to find that you've added my mother Sylvia Alma (Felix) Aguilar, memorial ID #149392241, to Find a Grave. I had no idea this was a volunteer thing or else I would have added my father awhile back, instead of thinking I would never find any of my family members here. But thank goodness you paid good attention to the Mission Park Funeral Chapels website and used an obituary I remember toiling over in a state of emotional fragility and a photo I thought would represent my mom better than the one she specified when she was alive, to give my mom a sort of immortality on this website. I most sincerely appreciate all the work you have done on the site.

Thank you so much. You don't have to include my name in the bio, no credit is necessary. I'm not related to the family either, just ran across the information while researching Galveston County families.
