I just love walking through cemeteries photographing headstones as there are usually so many interesting ones. It's amazing how much information one can get from these headstones, especially the older ones. I believe in immortalizing what we can of these stones for the future and let others know that at one point in time, these people lived. |
Feel free to use the photos of your loved ones resting place for your genealogy research and your personal family tree.
REMEMBER: The United States Social Security Death Index ONLY gives the last known address or location lived in and the state where the number was issued. It does NOT mean that the person was born there or died there.
PLEASE, PLEASE SEND ALL CORRECTIONS, ADDITIONS, LINKS, ETC FROM THE EDIT BUTTON (THAT IS WHY IT IS THERE) ON THE MEMORIAL. IT WILL SAVE SO MUCH TIME IN SEARCHING FOR THE CORRECT MEMORIAL AS THE NUMBERS THAT ARE TYPED IN ON EMAILS AND IN THE MESSAGE BOARD ARE NOT ALWAYS GOING TO THE CORRECT MEMORIALS.
PLEASE DO NOT ASK FOR TRANSFERS ON THIS PAGE AS THEY WILL NOT BE ANSWERED. USE THE EDIT TAB FOR THE MEMORIAL IN QUESTION AND CLICK ON OTHER SUGGESTION. THANK YOU.
Note about the Edit selections: Since this has now made it easier for people to send in changes on dates, names, death and birth locations and links to family, I have been finding that many edits have been INCORRECT and I am the one that receives the NASTY emails from those who find it hard to be polite and ask nicely to fix the errors that are sent by other contributors who try hard to help make the memorials complete. FROM NOW ON!!!!!....I will NOT accept ANY edit until I have researched what is sent. To make the edits faster, emailing me the information at the same time would make it easier to know WHERE the information is coming from and this includes FAMILY LINKS.

Is the Internet down? I can't get into the forums here nor into my Facebook acct. LOL I had a message from someone ask for my opinion on adding someone to Oakwood but I can't respond as he has messages turned off...I will see if he has entered any and try that way when I get back from doctor, if I can. Things are very very bad here.

Thanks for the headstone picture on Maria. I knew there would eventually be a headstone, I just didn't know when. You saved me a long drive down there to get that headstone picture.

First, thank you so much for your time and effort. At first I thought I had the wrong information about the location of these nine gravesites, but I just got off the phone from the BNC office staff and yes, the location is correct, but contrary to my assumption, there are no headstones or markers at all. Sad. The ten graves plots were purchased in 1878 but doesn't appear to have been any monies for markers. Once again, thank you so much for taking on these requests. Susan Quillman, North Carolina
