I was born and raised in Phoenix, AZ. My mother started this family research back in 1994 by compiling the family records she had in her possession. She contacted other family members to add current generations but never really searched back any further than the generations for which we had records. Just this past month I decided to continue her project since there was another generations to add. I was given a gift subscription to Ancestry.com and that led me to FindAGrave.|
I am also working on creating memorials for the Missing In America Project of Arizona. These veterans' cremains have been sitting on the shelves of funeral homes, without family to claim them, some for years. MIAP searches for these veterans and works with funeral homes and cemetery associations to provide the veterans with a proper military burial. Once I enter an MIAP hero, I have to wait a few days for the VA to update their records and set the grave marker before I can add the rest of the information. Please allow me a couple of weeks to before you send in edits. Rest assured I stay on top of it for our heroes. If you are a family member of one of our heroes, please contact me with information regarding your relationship to the hero and I will transfer the memorial to you for management.
If you find a photo taken by me (DAnderson) on FindAGrave please feel free to use it as you wish in your research on your family. If the picture on any of the memorials I manage wasn't taken by me, please contact the photographer to ask permission before you copy it to your family tree on other websites. While I may manage the memorial I may not have taken the photo and those rights belong to the photographer.

Are you related to or friends with the person that found the remains of Michael Thompson?
I not related to said decedent, but I am merely a Search Angel. I am a part of a group on Facebook called Search Squad, where the post about Michael's ashes was shared.
I did some digging and located the name of the people who may have lived in the house that the ashes were found in.
I am trying to contact her (any messages I send will go straight to her 'other' box and there is no option to friend her). If you can please have her message me, that would be great.

Thank you VERY much!

I didn't know Uncle Jimmy's cremains had been buried. All these years, I've wondered what happened to them. Would you please transfer his memorial to my care? I feel so badly that he is not listed with the rest of our family. I am pleased to see that they are in the National Memorial Cemetery. Thank you. Roberta

I'm very familiar with the Southern Arizona Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
The cemetery seems to order the grave marker about one day after someone is interred, and the VA gravesite locator seems to add the name about 2 days later. Nothing happens until the interment, regardless of when an obituary is published.
SAVMC is much quicker -- and thus so is VA -- than some other veterans cemeteries I know.
Have an awesome day, Bill

I am sorry I do not have any data on him.

She is a very sweet lady. I have spoken to her on the phone, as well as a few others. I was so excited to find more relatives. I never dreamed my Henslee family would be this large.

You and I are from the same Henslee line. My great grandfather was from Miles Miller Henslee's 2nd marriage to Sarah A. Moore.

Of course you can copy it. That's why I put photos out there. Maybe I should put that in my bio - I've been helped so many times I like to return the favor and help others. JoAnn
