Bio and Links
Bio Photo I love history and have been a grave "digger" all my life. I found Find A Grave while trying to put mine and my husband's family trees together and was instantly compelled to start my own virtual cemetary. What a neat thing to do for people who are unable to visit their loved ones!

I started working on our family trees in 2007 and the following is the direct Spitler line for my husband:

Hans Spittler 1689-1736 Basil, Switzerland
Johannes Spittler I 1690-1757 Bethel PA
Johannes Spittler II 1718-1757 Bethel PA
Jacob Spittler 1756-1826 Botetourt, VA
John Spitler, Sr 1788-1874 Clay OH
Andrew Spitler 1818-1891 Clay OH
Dr Charles Elmer Spitler 1863-1941 Saratoga IN
Dr Lloyd Lollar Spitler 1903-1978 Kettering OH
Rev Thomas Lloyd Spitler 1929-2001 Cincinnati OH

Will gladly transfer sites or add information and photos for family and friends.

Spitler farm near Fincastle
Hello! I am a descendant of Jacob Spitler and Susannah Buckwalter Lane. On Jacobs Find a grave Page you have written that the stones are still on the farm but unreadable. I am planning a trip to Virginia with my family this summer in hopes to retrace my American ancestors footsteps. I was hoping that you had the specific directions to the spitler land that is five miles outside of Fincastle on Looney Creek. It would mean the world to me if you would share this info with me. Thank you

RE: Hebron Moravian Cemetery
Paula, thanks for the Hannah and Curtis Jr. Grubb transfers. They were re-interred, along with Curtis Sr., at Hebron from Tabor church about 1935. Nobody seems to know why. If you have a suitable photo to add, that would be great!

Edward Trumble
I have added Edward "Dock" Trumble's parents to findagrave as well as most of his siblings. (130888939 & 130889594).

His wife is Hannah Cullinan, born Feb 1881 in Ireland according to the 1900 census.

The 1900 census lists Edward birth as Jun 1879.

They had 2 children, Agnes M., and Edward Trumble, Jr.

Some time after Edward died his widow, Hannah married Ernest Padgett, he had lost his 1st wife, Georgia in 1917.

Susanna Buckwalter Spitler
I believe the parentage of Susanna Buckwalter Spitler is incorrect. Please see the following link:
I have been researching Lancaster County Buckwalters for some time and I believe Susan's parents may be from the Jacob or Johannes Buckwalter lines, which lie outside Lancaster County.

Johannes Spitler II
Paula, was this Johannes Spitler related to the one buried in the Spitler family cemetery in Luray, VA? I tried to email you at the email address listed, not sure if you'll get it. I thought it could possibly be another Johannes Spitler. There's a book called The History of Greenville, VA by local historian John Brake which has Spitler genealogy branching from Johannes Spitler in Luray. It suggests that my John William Spitler I is a son of this Johannes Spitler in Luray. I'm hoping that you can help clear this up. I am in the process of linking my Spitler ancestors. I think his information is wrong.

RE: Christian Etter
Yes.. it was an oops. There is no known Find A Grave Memorial for Gerhardt. Additional info for her. I have her name as Catharina Banga Etter, She was born: Munchenstein, Basel, Switzerland,Oct 26, 1717 Father Hans Jacob Banga, Mother, Anna Catharine Kappen Banga. There are siblings and children also. Thanks for your help in documenting this family. I sent another reply but that too had an error..... I guess it is just one of those days.
