Sarah Robertson
Hello Pamela,
I reviewed you request for a photo of Sarah "Francie" Robertson. Please accept my sincere apologies. Unfortunately I created a memorial for Sarah Robertson, when, in fact, the correct name is Sarah F. "Francie" Roberts. I honestly hope my error has not caused problems for you. I have corrected my Find a Grave memorial and plan to post a photo on it soon.

RE: Burney Cemetery
Yes, I'd rather walk through the gate too - lol. If the Robertson County Archives cannot help, possibly the City of White House can. I know that they have a Cemetery Board. I'm not certain if they are just responsible for the town cemeteries, or if they control all cemeteries in the town.

Pamela, I've taken a serious interest in the Burney Cemetery ever since I discovered it two years ago. I feel that this cemetery is a very important part of local White House history (not to mention state Civil War significance) and needs to be preserved and kept up. I sense that you feel the same as I. Possibly we can team-up in an attempt to care for it. Please feel free to contact me directly if you wish. My email is: and my phone number is 672-7204.

Hopefully we can put our heads together on this and figure out a plan.

RE: Burney Cemetery
The last time I was there the gate was chain locked. I had to "hop" the fence to get in. We'd have to find out who has the key.

RE: Burney Cemetery
I went searching for this cemetery two years ago and was happy to locate it. There is a very nice Civil War tombstone/monument there for Wesley Monroe Burney, who was wounded and taken prisoner at Fort Donelson. It is very interesting stuff!
