Alice & Wm. McCorkle
I have done a complete survey of the Gotebo Cemetery and uploaded photos of all headstones several years ago and found no McCorkle headstones. Sorry.

George R. Earley
My apologies. I thought I'd photographed all the Earley's, but it seems there were a couple in the next row from the bordered family plot. I will return to Lander and get this photo. Sorry for the delay.

RE: Photos

You're quite welcome; it's a pleasure to assist.

Also buried in the same plot are:
R. Irving Watkins, Jr (?-1892)
E. Ann Watkins (1830-1908)
Samuel Watkins (?-1884?)
William B. Watkins (?-1890): died at age 77
Ellenor A. Watkins (?-1882): wife of William, died at age 67

If you would like to create memorials for these, I will upload photos. If not, I will create memorials for them eventually.

Best Regards,
Joe Canner

RE: Cunningham Cemetery
HOT is right! It was at least 100 degrees this weekend! I was not dressed properly either as I was headed to Shreveport from Austin and I did not realize I would be driving through Corsicana without all the kids in tow until I was on the road. It was definitely a spur of the moment impulse. Flip flops are not the best for hiking!

Just to confirm, we are both talking about the maintenance building of the Texas Reform School. Correct? I went to the main guardhouse but will try whatever I find by maintenance next time I am in town.

Many thanks again.

RE: Cunningham Cemetery

No on at the guard house has heard of it so I am on my own to find it. It would be helpful to know a few more details that you might recall. Directly behind the maintenance area is a short dirt road with a cattle gate at the end. The wooded pasture is surrounded with barb wire. Inside the fence is a large two story barn that looks like it could be circa 19 th century. There are cattle guards and some smaller out buildings around this. I climbed the fence and walked to the end of the buildings but did not see anything that looked like the picture online. The road continued on in to the shrub trees. As I was by myself and no one knew exactly where I was I did not proceed any further. Do you recall if you entered the field by the barn or at another point of entry? Did you enter from directly behind the maintenance buildings or did you drive down the side road to the right? Any more detail would be appreciated. I will be back this way next week.

Cunningham Cemetery
Hi Billie:

I am driving through on 31 today and back again either Sunday or Monday. I spent an hour and a half trying to locate the cemetery. GPS has it in the middle of a wooded pasture with no road access. Can you send me some specific driving /walking directions for the best way to actually get to the cenetery? I will happily take lots of photos and post.

I am descended from Jeremiah Cunningham btw...

Alice Cain
Working on my Cain line this morning and came across the memorial for Alice. I added a picture I had. Hope you don't mind. Don't know if you have any of her. Have a good day. Laura
