I live in Los Angeles, CA.|
I will transfer NON-family memorials according to Find-A-Grave rules.
I will be more than happy to update memorials. I am not always able to make updates daily but I do get to them, usually within a few days unless I am out of town.
You may copy my photos.
~A Poem for our Ancestors~
Your tombstone stands among the rest
Neglected and alone
The name and date are chiseled out
On polished marble stone
It reaches out to all who care
It is too late to mourn
You did not know that I exist
You died and I was born
Yet each of us are cells of you
In flesh, in blood and bone
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
Entirely not our own
Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
One hundred years ago
Spreads out among the ones you left
Who would have loved you so
I wonder if you lived and loved
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot
And come to visit you

Done. I'm embarrassed to say that I never even noticed that you can choose what category of photo you're uploading. Thanks for pointing this out. And, I'm going to the Stevenson Cemetery this weekend, and will try to find her headstone for you.
|Thomas Henning||Saint John's Lutheran Cemetery|
I have been trying for at least a couple of years now to get Find A Grave and the rest of the Find A Grave community (that is those who don't understand) to come to the reality that there are two (2) different Saint John's Lutheran Churches and Cemeteries in the Bellevue, Jackson, Iowa/Saint Donatus, Jackson, Iowa area.
I have created for the second time a new entry on Find A Grave for the Saint John's Lutheran Cemetery in Saint Donatus. I am still awaiting an answer from Find A Grave via email concerning this issue.
The reason for me contacting you is to thank you for all of your good work and to ask if you would be willing to move your entries that have wound up in the old existing Saint John's Lutheran Cemetery in Bellevue that belong in the Saint John's Lutheran Cemetery Saint Donatus to this new page. I realize this could be a lot of work and time on your part but it is to the benefit of all the Find A Grave community and others. I also realize Find A Grave caused this dilemma in the first place but they only seem to be able to mess it up further. They deleted the page for the Saint John's Lutheran Cemetery in Saint Donatus and threw all of those entries into the Saint John's Lutheran Cemetery Bellevue. By the way they have the wrong address on the existing Saint John's Lutheran Cemetery Bellevue incorrect. I am going through my own personal records to find those that are in the wrong cemetery. I will be contacting those contributors who have created those memorials and asking them if they would move their entries also.
If you have any thoughts on this matter or if I can be of any assistance in this mater if you chose to pursue it please contact me.

You're welcome! I photographed all the Vincents while there. It's a very small cemetery (about 250 people). I'm so happy you sent me there! It was the first time I had ever been there and I found a long, lost relative of mine there! So, thank you! :)
Jane, I meant to say I will gladly add the transcription and please feel free to post a photo of it. James
Jane, By all means I will gladly add it.

One more edit to approve which will then link him with all the rest of his family. Thank you.

Thanks for asking.
Here's a link to the FAQ regarding posting obituaries to memorial pages: http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?searchArg=obituary&page=listFaqs#89
Our preference would be for a written synopsis, including the citation, to be added to the bio.
Feel free to submit that info via the Edit Tab on his page.
I would appreciate SO much if you would approve the edits I have sent you for the members of the Scott family. I am putting them all together and would appreciate their being added into things. Thank you.
