|Shirley C McKenzie||CORRECTION TO William Wicker Message|
Dear Beverly, My previous message abt. subject family which I wrote TODAY is a mixed bag of errors. There were two William Wickers in Obion County, TN almost the same age (b abt. 1860) and both married women named Mary. William Wicker whose wife sometimes went by Maria eventually moved to Memphis and they were the parents of Price (a female). Price went by that name during her lifetime. So she was NOT the daughter of William & Mary 'Mollie' (Phipps) Wicker. So, my question is simple: Is the child listed as the daughter of William and Mollie named in the cemetery book? Since she died between censuses, she isn't enumerated anywhere. In one census, Mollie does say she is the mother of 4 children; 3 living. I think this is strong enough evidence to include in my family tree. Thank you for posting on the Sardis site. I am not familiar with the family or area and can see this may have been their community cemetary. Shirley C. McKenzie.

Dear Beverly, I am researching this family for the daughter of Bessie (Wicker) McHughes, who is living at age 93. Bessie was a daughter of subject Wickers. I see that you have named a child buried at Sardis Cemetery as another daughter as theirs. Ancestry.com records say they married in 1879 and when they were enumerated in 1880, they have a 4 month old female with them. The name is poorly written and looks like 'Pricie' - maybe Prissy as a nickname? Can you tell me how you know this child is theirs? This would be very valuable information. Thank you. S.C. McKenzie. p.s. you can email me at email@example.com if you wish. Thanks. s.

You are welcome. Would that more be done to mark her passing than a artificial flower.
