Hello Reader. I am first and foremost a follower of the Jesus of the Bible: the Messiah, the Christ, the Creator, the "only begotten Son" - I love Him because He first loved me and it was by His death for me on the cross that I have hope past the grave! |
I'm a fairly new widow with four grown kids and three perfect kid-in-laws, and the seven most adorable, brilliant, charming and sweet grandchildren ever born - and I'm not even prejudiced! :) When I'm not playing with them, I like to study the Bible, quilt, read great books, hike, backpack, travel, garden, and play board games. I am also a long-time "spits & furts" genealogist. And I enjoy volunteering for FindAGrave.
Thanks to my sister RhondaJo, who not only laid the foundations of my genealogy research, but who has encouraged me to do F.A.G. Oddly, I began to participate only a few months before my strong healthy husband of over 35 years collapsed and died without warning or illness. As a new widow, I am enjoying FindAGrave as something I can do on sleepless nights, "paying it forward" to future generations and strangers. I find cemeteries places of serenity and sobriety, but also of hope. My primary function in FAG is taking photos of local markers, and when I fulfill a request I take pix of as many extra stones as I have the back and time for. Usually there is a memorial already up, but on occasion I need to create a memorial, so if you see that I am managing your family or friend, please ask. It's my hope and goal that every site I put up will go to a family member or friend. I welcome edits, additions, and corrections to my memorials. You may use my photos.
Through the loss of my own husband and parents, I've realized that these memorials are the only lasting memorial place many people will ever have, and the only sight of the marker many will ever see. So I hope I and other photographers take time to clean up the grave site: whisk away leaves, wipe off bird poop, trim the grass from the edges, take a photo of the back of upright stones, and close-ups of details. Make note of the inscriptions, especially the small, fading ones. Then please, send a note via the edit button to the manager of the site with any new info gleaned from the marker. Thank you!
I am also willing to share what info I have on my family lines if I can help anyone. The lines I am especially interested in include:
Anderson/Peterson, Ashlin, Blackketter, Brady, Broome, Causey, Clary, Combs, Cowart, Freeman, Gentry, Groseclose, Humphries, Joiner, Kegans, McVey, Pate, Ring, Sorbello, Spangler, Ward, & Wells.
If you would like to read my husband's memorial, and leave flowers at his site, his memorial nummber is 60229291, Dale Sorbello.
If you would like to contact me off the public wall, I can be emailed at ksorbello at hotmail dot com.

|Lilian Wheeler HUHN||Duplicate Memorials?|
Thank you for the extensive explanation. I already removed the photo request and linked Russell to his father, Elmer Jasper Cox.
I'll appreciate if you will add further photos or information on his relatives.

I wonder whether Memorial 531317 and Mamorial 32548666 have been created for the same person:
RUSSELL PAUL COX, born March 12, 1917 and died
September 1, 1999.
If so, please let me know and I will remove my photo request.
Thank you in advance

I would like to manage my husband's great-great-grandparents' memorials and then I will add the obituaries to the memorials. The great-great-grandparents are: Peter Anderson (67071064) and Maria Anderson (67071059) and they are buried at Calvary Lutheran Cemetery. I have already added photographs of Peter and Maria to their memorials. They have very lengthy obituaries and it is so much easier to correct typing errors if I am the manager of the memorial.
Thank you, I appreciate your help!

Thanks for the explanation. I've seen the dual entries before and wondered about them. I believe that your idea that "They were both pending at the same time" may be the answer. Anyway, problem solved. Again, thanks for the help and your work on Find A Grave.

Hi Kim; I can only find where I put LaVerne Augustin on Find-A-Grave one time (#160049607), on 26 Mar 2016. However, there seems to be a glitch of some sort. On my memorial (listed above), LaVerne's husband shows up two times. And on her husband's memorial (#101327606), LaVerne also shows up two times (or did).
I went to my memorial on LaVerne and deleted one of the Arnold Augustin entries. Both memorials now seem to be correct (I hope). Is that how you see it? Thanks for the heads-up. Best Wishes.
|Murel Georgesson||PETER JONAS ANDERSON|
Hello - Thank you for your hard work for Genealogy. I'm writing you about my Great x 2 grandparents, Peter Jonas Anderson (1824-1906) and his wife, Mary of Chisago City, Chisago County, MN. They are apparently buried in West Green Lake Cemetery.
I just recently visited her F-A-G page, and liked your picture, apparently of her surrounded by her family. Is it possible to find the names of the people in the picture? I know it's kind of a long shot, but it would be good to know more about the families away from the straight line of my direct ancestors.
Thank you for your help.
Philip M. Lundquist
(my F-A-G public name is Murel Georgesson)

Thank you very much for all your hard work, hopefully I can help others as much as you have helped our family
