|Bio and Links|
San Diego has some of the best Find a Grave contributors who are doing an amazing job of documenting our local cemeteries. If you need a grave photo there is no shortage photo volunteers. If you are looking for an obituary, cemetery information or advice we have volunteers happy to help you. |
If you are new to Find a Grave and want to start contributing in the San Diego area please read the FAQs or reach out to someone with your questions.
Please always do a search before creating a new memorial
Links, Corrections and additional information
Please use the edit tab and I will be happy to make corrections, add links and additional information. Do not leave information you want added on this page.
Note: Abstracted lists (such as census, death index, etc.) should be formulated into complete sentences prior to submitting for addition to the bio.
Copy-and-paste census, military and other data is not a "bio". Please don't send these type of bios because they will not be added.
This is Find-a-Grave, we find graves, so please, if the memorial doesn't have a grave photo, request one prior to asking for a transfer.
I'm pretty liberal when it comes to transfers, however too many times I have transferred and nothing is added or changed. So if you want a transfer, please:
1. Post any family photos (if you have them)
2. Provide me with family links and biographical information you wish to add to the memorial.
3. Tell me your exact relationship
I will not make a transfer if you create excessive memorials with unknown burial locations.
Please be a Find a Grave contributor, not just a collector of someone else's work
✔ PLEASE NOTE!!! Do not move your Burial Unknown into the correct cemetery based on the information you found from my memorial & then demand that I delete my duplicate.

Thank You for the Heads Up :)
|Chris Flora||My mistake.|
Wait, my mistake...I see what I did. Her birthday is Feb 9th 1863. I shouldn't be doing this so late at night. :)
|Chris Flora||RE: Louise|
I disagree on Louise's birth/death date. Here is her death index:
Her birthdate you can see is in February here (as Lou Radovich):
...which leads me to believe that the birthdate on the death index above is correct (Feb 9th 1863)
This is just some of the info I have found, there is a number of other sources, but these are the most relevant.

That is a great photo of Jim. So glad you found it. Did you know we are working on LGBT historic sites in San Diego? New project.

Thanks for the heads-up. Funny how the older ones are easier to find than the later ones!
I'm still hunting for this Asceal's nephew John, with more certainty. I've at least narrowed him down to maybe four counties... All I know for sure is he's unlikely to marked anywhere but might, maybe, please, be on someone's burial list somewhere... but not a list anyone has already converted into memorials.
My best deductive guess is that Dr. John's widow is buried unmarked in Eddy Ridge/Mount Hope in Washington County, Ohio, where her daughter buried and marked a child just a couple years after Sarah died, and just before moving to Kansas. By deduction, I think Sarah's other daughter, Elizabeth Baldwin, is in the same cemetery, unmarked, as is, I think, Sarah. I don't know if Dr. John moved there in his elder years, too, or died first elsewhere and is buried someone in Monroe Ohio, or Marshall WV, in particular, but among other contenders as well. But moving might explain why Monroe County is so silent on him late, despite having earlier reports.
Hard to believe that with so many children between them, and with him as a community physician, no one kept a better record of "whatever happened to..." The family Bible of his stepdaughter Hellen Marr Patterson Paynter, the last to move from Eddy Ridge, reports her mother's death date but not Dr. John's, but does report the death of the foster daughter of Dr. John and her mother. Which Monroe sources do, too, before going totally silent on him. Curious. And exasperating.
But I'm glad the Brookovers are unveiled or confirmed more specifically. Maybe it will spread!

I don't care what YOU think. Census and death records of children are more than adequate as proof. Why don't you ask Find A Grave what they think? I will bend to their opinion on this as long as I hear it from them. If the name info was only on one out of many census records, I would agree with you, but many out of them shows more than an accidental name spelling. I am not one who doesn't consider the possibilities you raise. However, I've been doing this longer that your picture implies you've been living. Don't insult my intelligence or my care for the facts that I present to memorial owners by denying valid additions to memorials.
|Smilydino||RE: Susan E. Evans|
That's not good enough. There are proper locations on memorials for names, etc., not as a note or in the Bio. Please put this info in the proper place. You can't make up your own rules as to how YOU want to do things.
