John James Armstrong was born in Amarillo, Potter County, TX, the son of David Clinton and Anna Marie (Goranson) Armstrong. He was reared on the family farm out from Panhandle, Carson County, TX. John graduated from Panhandle High School and The University of Texas at Austin with a BS degree in Pharmacy. He resided in MD and AL as a pharmacist for the U.S. Public Health Service. He resigned his commission and returned to Greenville, TX, where for a year he pursued a MS degree in computer science becoming a graduate school dropout. He continued his pharmacist career with McGaughey, Revco, Eckerd, and Super 1 Foods & Discount Pharmacy|
His genealogy interest was inspired by an aunt, Gladys Mae Armstrong (1900-1991), in the late 1970's. From there the interest has grown more into assisting others in their research where he can rather than doing research on his family. His particular interest is in newspaper indexation as shown in a way with the Website address. The photo is from a few years back... To God be the Glory, Great Things He Has Done!

If you could find a complete obituary for her rather than this from an index, I'd be glad to add it to her bio area. As always, I would omit any names of possible living relatives mentioned in the obituary and prefer to have the name and date of publication.

Thanks so much, John. She was clearly a special person, and I am happy to have her.
Do you ever get up to Pampa? I've got a couple of requests in for photos, that are going ignored.
I appreciate your time and dedication to F-A-G.
|Terri Kirkman||Nora & Joseph Lilly|
I do not believe that Nora (b.1873, d.1952) & Joseph Lilly are buried in Sonora Cemetery. They are not listed in the data base. Nora's death cert. states burial in Greenville. I've searched Hunt County to no avail. I know her son Herbert (my grandfather) is buried in Memoryland.
Just wondering if you have any suggestions on where I might search? Also, can you take her off the Sonora listing?
Thanks so much!

|carolyn cail||Jacob Reeder grave|
Please accept my heartfelt gratitude for locating my great great grandfathers burial site. I have looked for at least 10 years for this information. I have found Jacob's son, Jacob Benjamin, in the same cemetery but I missed this one. I cannot tell you what this means to me and my family.
Thank you again for all your hard work.

Thank you for the correction. I have added everything from the previous memorial as an edit to your corrected version.
Mrs. Claytor was my g-grandmother's sister. Would you be willing to transfer the memorial to me?
Thank You Again! Accuracy is important.
