Bio and Links
Bio Photo Retired law enforcement and military (Marines and Air Force Reserves) currently in a nursing career.
I collect WWI, WWII and Vietnam era uniforms, medals, etc as my main hobby but also dabble in autographs and of course work on the family tree from time to time. Most of the memorials I have created are of family or very good friends. But, I also build memorials or write bio's for veterans who do not have a memorial or bio already built - but should have. I live in Tulsa, OK.

I was happy to find the marker; she would be pleased. I've taken photos of most of the ones we didn't have at Parks. You might check the memorials if there is one that you had needed. I still have a number that are listed on Find A Grave that I cannot locate. I'll keep checking when the weather cools a little more.

I thought you might like to view Shirley's photo of her monument. I like the cat on there since she loved her cats.

Merle Cory
Thank you for your note. I will leave my memorial up but have added a notation for folks to also visit your site. You have done a magnificent job honoring the life of Lt. Cory. I hope people will find these memorials to be the testimony that I have strived them to be.
Best wishes to you,

RE: Herman A. Bauer memorial
Hi Rick, I stumbled on a couple of sites about the ball players killed in WW2. One lists all the names. See The other has complete bios of all 139. The one for Herman Bauer is at Its a great site, you can look up all the names on the list. Never mind the transfer request if you are going to do a little write up yourself. I hope you do!
Best wishes,

George Washinton Terry
George Washington was married (1) to Arena Jones and (2) Sarah Ann Elizabeth Wilson Welch. I can prove his marriage to Arena by court, land sale and census records. I believe Arena to have been the daughter of Ezra and Pernina Jones.

I do not believe he was married to Anna Indiana Rogers or Betty Barloe. I suspect I know who gave this info, which was told to O. Alden Smith for his Gateway book and I believe it to be a mistake.

Sarah's date of death is not listed on the Find A Grave site, but here is he obituary:

Mrs. Terry Dead

Mrs. Sarah E. Terry, age 74 years, died Wednesday night at the home of her son, J.W. Terry in Heavener, where she had been making her home. She had been ill for some time. The remains were taken to Weeks for burial.
Mrs. Terry was a good Christian lady and had numerous friends wherever she lived. The bereaved relatives have the sympathy of the people of Heavener and vicinity.-The Heavener Dispatch

Found a newly erected stone at this McMurtry Cem site in Mountain View & placed pic on your memorial. Some clean-up work has been done there.

RE: Selby brothers
Hi Rick!
I haven't been on my computer in several weeks so I haven't been keeping up with my projects. Did I ever answer your question? I'm so sorry if I didn't get back to you. If you could tell me which Selby brothers you're referring to I can look it up and see if I have any info or photos. Thanks!
