Bio and Links
Bio Photo I would like to honor my ancestors and get to know them so to speak by creating my family tree. The Willard Family tree began with information I had gathered over thirty years ago.

On my father's side:
I am a descendant of Samuel Willard and Mary Nixon Willard and William Willard and Sarah Gaulding Wilard and Henry Willard and Harriet Elizabeth Richards. John Powhatan Willard and Virginia Belle Lacy, and James Elliot Schoolcraft and Cordelia Dye Carter.

On my mother's side:
I am a descendant of John A. Higginbotham and Mary Bennett and Henry Newton Boley and Martha Ellen Higginbotham. Benjamin Franklin Sears and Laura Della Rollyson.

I am proud of my family heritage and would like to preserve it for future generations.

"To forget one's ancestors is to be a brook without a source, a tree without a root."
A Chinese Proverb

I do make mistakes and appreciate all corrections. Please do not add photos of obituaries and death certificates. I would like my ancestors remembered as people not death certificates. If you want copies of the documents; I will gladly provide them.

I don't know anything about how this works.. .just stumbled upon it by accident. Found it interesting. So are you related too? Would we be distant cousins?

Dorothy Jean Willard Holmes
This lady would have been my grandmother, only she passed away when my mother was only three years old, and my aunt was just three days old. It was such a surprise to find her information online. Thank you. I have added one of the only photos we ever had of her .

Sherwood Cantrell
Mrs. Keefer, my name is Russell Bryant Jarrett. Sherwood's daughter Minnie married my Great, Great Granfather Vernon Randolph Jarrett. I have been searching for Sherwood's grave in Hope Cemetery for several years. I've spent many hours weed-eating, dragging brush, etc... and still no success in locating him. Do you know if he is definitely buried there, along with his twin brother Abraham? I've walked almost every inch of that cemetery and still cannot find either of them. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
PS. Thank you for all of your work with findagrave.com

Westlawn-Hillcrest Vets
We are currently working to identify anyone buried in Westlawn-Hillcrest Cemetery Omaha NE that has served in the military. If you have a loved one buried there or know of someone, please send us a message. We place flags on the graves for Memorial Day. This project is sponsored by Centennial Masonic Lodge #326.

If you can send us the names, we will be sure to include them on our list to get a flag.

Thank you for the help with this ongoing project.

I added the information you sent. Thanks! If you are related, let me know and I'll transfer the memorial. I don't think her husband Virgil is in my line. I couldn't find a death certificate for him.
