After retiring, I took over my father's work on my family tree and it led to photographing headstones of my family in Iowa. So I thought, why not help others who live farther away? Plus, I find cemeteries so interesting and peaceful. There's no better feeling being outdoors on a nice day!

Please feel free to use any of my photos.

Would you be willing to transfer Aunt Colleen's Memorial to manage? I also manage Uncle George's memorial page as well as my grandparents. She just died yesterday and she was just getting ready to turn 97. Shortly before 97 years old, Aunt Colleen was a tough and well loved woman with a big heart, although small in stature. Much Thanks to you adding her name here. She will be missed by all.

Deetz family of Iowa
My family has kept this obituary notice for some reason and it possibly includes some of the Deetz family members you have posted.

Killed in Italy
Pfc. George Elmer Deetz, 19-year-old-son of Mr. and Mrs. George F. Deetz, 129 Thirty-fifth street drive SE, was killed May 27 in action somewhere in Italy, according to word received Saturday from the war department by his parents.
Pfc. Deetz joined the army in September, 1943, and was sent overseas in March after receiving training at Camp Gruber, Okla. An infantryman, he was a senior at Franklin school at the time of his army induction.
Pfc. Deetz was born May 15, 1925. He has twin brothers, Pfc. Roger and Rollie Deetz, 21, in the quartermaster corps in England, and two younger brothers at home, Edward and Loren.
