My name is Michael Smith. I'm a retired funeral director from H.M. Patterson & Son Funeral Home in Atlanta, Georgia and I'm doing my family genealogy on my mother's and father's families. My mother's families are the Kirks and the McGinnis from the Roswell and the Alpharetta areas. My father's family is the Smith's, Cleveland's and the Kendrick's from the Northwest side of Atlanta. And I'm also working on my father in law and mother in law's families from Bartow County the Fowler's, Teem's, Gordon's, Morris's and Harrell families. I have always been fascinated with old cemeteries and their markers and the stories surrounding them and I'm having a lot of fun with this project.|

Seen people do that alot. Mostly when another person in close relations bears the same name, or even if he liked it better. You could change the middle name from "M." to Marvin and the memorial will still be correct. Would also let people know were "Marvin" name came from.

Please supply memorial # so I know which memorial is being referenced. I've been a lot of places recently.

Do you have any more information on her birth or death? Did she marry again if her husband died before her?
Mike could you send me your number so I can give you control of Mr. Yancey.
Thank you for the information.

Thank you for taking the time to post the photos of the Barton gravestones. I really appreciate it.

Mr. Michael Smith,
Thank you for getting back with me so quickly. I'm sorry I didn't get back with you sooner but I don't always spend time on Findagrave or for that matter the cemetery that I am photographing (Cassville Cemetery, Bartow County GA). I have been photographing a new section of the cemetery and thought I would spend a little time (which finally worked out to be hours!) researching one of the markers. That is how I got interested in the Chapman's and finally the Fowler's. I don't suspect I will be doing much more "research" into your family names as I still have more photographs to upload that I took weeks ago.
My surname is not located here in Georgia so I've spent considerable amount of time photographing the Cassville cemetery which is fairly close by and getting the information uploaded to Findagrave. Although a good portion is already photographed (gabartow.org) I decided to create my own album so to speak. I'm planning on giving all the photographs to the local Genealogy club(s) in the area once I get done. It is my hope that the work I'm doing here will get returned in some fashion which will be beneficial to my ancestry search; as most of my ancestors are from Illinois and Iowa. You are more than welcome to use/take any of the photographs that are your family members. In fact if they are in the Cassville cemetery, I may have additional photo's of the markers that include group shots so to speak and larger photographed areas that will help you find the markers.
Well, good luck in your research and let me know if I can be of help.

More than happy to transfer his memorial to you. So glad he can be with family! Mary Olive, Midland, Texas
