The profile photo is of my great-grandparents. It's their wedding photo taken in 1897. When I was a small child, around the age of five, I found this photo in a cedar box where my Mother kept her special memorabilia. I was fascinated by the picture and I would beg my mom to tell me about Othie and Ella, her grandparents. She would reminisce while I stared at the photo trying to imagine what life would have been like so many years ago.|
I've had the photograph blown up to an 11 x 17. The frame I used belonged to my grandmother (Ella and Othie's daughter) and it hangs on the wall in my office. It's always within sight reminding me how important it is to remember our ancestors.
I'm married to wonderful man and we enjoy doing projects around the house together. In my landscaping I like to include flowers that my grandmothers, my mom and other members of my family enjoyed or had in their own yards.
I have been doing genealogy for more than 30 years. Most recently I've been involved in the planning of previous Indianapolis Family History Conferences volunteer and support several historical societies, and I'm a member of the National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). I'm also working on a book about the Bennett Family. Copies will be donated to the local libraries and historical societies once it's finished.
I am very thankful to those who have worked so hard to create memorials for my family members, whether direct-line or not. Because my ancestors are important to me I will continue to ask for transfers when requesting corrections. I do consider it an honor to be able to maintain their memorials. As I've done research, my departed family becomes very real. . .that's why I ask.
Although the majority of the sites I've added are my family, I have added a few non-family members.
My personal philosophy on transferring memorials: I'm not one who hides behind Find-A-Grave guidelines of having to be a direct relative. Those are guidelines, not hard and fast rules. I understand contributors have put a lot of hard work in creating memorials and maybe they don't want to "share" their work with others. That's their choice. But if you don't have a history of deleting transferred memorials and you actually respect the transfers you've been given, I have no problem transferring management to you. No need to give me your entire genealogical history to do so.
It's seriously not about the numbers. I haven't added thousands of memorials and I only concentrate on my family. It's hard to believe some contributors when they say "it's not about the numbers" because clearly it is. If it wasn't they would be more willing to transfer memorials to family members, regardless of their relationship. If I have added a memorial for your family, I won't hold their memorial hostage. Just my personal opinion and not intended to offend.
Names I am researching Adams, Allgood, Anderson, Beach, Beck, Bennett, Britton, Brown, Bryant, Bush, Davidson, Dawson, Depue, Good(e), Ham, Hamm, Harvell, Hundley, Ingle, Isom, Johnson, Keim, Lanam, Rosabom, Rouse, Shafer, Stone, Taylor, Tull, Weatherford, Wilcox.

|Forget Me Not||RE: Chambers photos|
The photos for William and Ella Chambers have been posted to your memorials. I have deleted them from the other memorials and have asked the contributor to delete those. Also asked for her to make a family connection for the son. Vernon C. Chambers. #123704514. Thanks for info.

You are very welcome for the photo of their memorial. I live close to this cemetery, and go there, as time allows, to photograph as many as I can. And as I can I restore/reset/relevel some of memorials.

Hi Brenda: I am descended from John's sister Martha Mattie (Bennett) & James B Wilcox, my second GGP. I have a file on Ancestry.com kasterentirefile which you may wish to review and please use whatever you want. They were early pioneers in Dallas County, Iowa. I now live at Lake of the Ozarks, Mo, but most of my family is still in Iowa. Have a good day, Charolette
