Bio Photo Since retirement, I have had lots of time to work on genealogy for my family and my husband's family. I enjoy visiting cemeteries and recording the burials to help others find their relatives.

When requesting a transfer, please tell me how you are related to the individual. I'm not a stickler for the 4 generation rule, but I do like to know your connection to the person.

PLEASE DO NOT ADD DEATH CERTIFICATES TO MY MEMORIALS. There are family members who do not wish to have death certificates displayed. If you need a death cert, there are several places to look them up.

W. Aretes Welch
If you are not related to W. Aretes Welch, then I would greatly appreciate the transfer to #46832186
I emailed you to notify you that a group of us have found this stone in Janes Cemetery, Ravenden Springs, Randolph County, Arkansas. It has been a big project to identify. It took us over 2 weeks to make out enough letters to identify the stones engraved name!

Dr. Joseph Gillespie Moore (#44877744)
A biography and an interesting document have been added to the memorial for this Confederate physician. As you can see, I am confused by the
bronze marker on his grave.

Thanks again,

F. Terry Hambrecht, M.D.
Senior Technical Advisor to the
National Museum of Civil War Medicine

Dr. Joseph Gillespie Moore
With regard to the transfer request found in my earlier message today, I failed to tell you how I am related.
Please accept my apologies for that omission.

Cornelius Moore, also buried in the Powers Chapel Cemetery is my gr gr gr grandfather. He bought land adjacent to the present cemetery before it existed in 1855. This land remained in our family until year 2000 and is a Texas Heritage property. My mother was born on this land in 1927.

Dr. Joseph Gillespie Moore is the first born son of Cornelius Moore. He is the brother of my gr gr grandmother, Carolina Moore née Watkins who inherited the land. Dr. Joseph Gillespie Moore has no descendants other than descendants of his brothers and sisters like me.
While I have dozens of other family members buried in Powers Chapel Cemetery, I am asking for this one transfer to "bioengineer" as a courtesy. The memorial he will provide for Dr. Joseph Gillespie Moore is important to my family and the many relatives alive in the area today. Many thanks for your help. Patricia Byers Brannon,

Re: Memorial # 44877744

He is buried in Powers Chapel Cemetery, Falls County, Texas and is my family who owned land adjacent to the cemetery from 1855-2000 where Joseph lived immediately after the Civil War. I have been in touch with another findagrave contributor,
Bioengineer #47026824, who has researched Joseph Moore and discovered new information. This gentleman, F. Terry Hambrecht, M.D., is the Senior Technical Advisor to the National Museum of Civil War Medicine. Please transfer this memorial to him so he can post Joseph Moore's biography and CSA service for my family.

As an FYI, I am the historian for the Powers Chapel Cemetery Association of Falls County, Texas.

Your transfer will be most appreciated.

Transfer request
Hello, Maggie,
Please consider transferring this gravesite to my name, Juliet Wills #49098574, for Rachel Donaldson
was grandmother to my beloved Granny Priddy out of
Mississippi. I started researching Rachel Donaldson and family in the 1990s and have all children's names listed in her and husband Joseph Wallace Donaldson family bible (extant). I do have extensive research data to add including the children's families and ancestral generations back to South Carolina. I greatly appreciate this consideration!

Cornelius N Moore II and Dr Joseph Gillispie Moore
I suggested an edit on his name to correct a totally wrong transcription that I have known about for decades. His correct name is CORNELIUS W. MOORE. His tombstone as well as other true and accurate facts correctly show the name and he often signed docs as C.W. Moore.

I also submitted an edit to correct the spelling of his brother's name which is Dr. Joseph Gillespie Moore, not Gillispie.

These two are my family. They are buried in Powers Chapel Cemetery in Falls County, Texas along with their father, Cornelius Moore, and their sister, Maria Julia Moore Floyd, wife of V. A. Floyd.

Just as an FYI, at present, I am the historian for the Powers Chapel Cemetery Association.

Regards, Pat Brannon

Tarprey and Mattie Velta Matthews
Hello, I see that you created the page for the two above referenced people. They are my Uncle and Aunt. My father, Olden Sedric Pittman, is Mattie's much younger brother.

I am putting together a book regarding my father and his 14 siblings. I was thrilled to find the pictures of Tarp and Mattie as I had nothing prior. I have been unable to contact the daughter Marjorie and I know their two sons are deceased. I only saw them one time in Texas when I was a teenager aome 45 years ago.

Do you have other pictures of them or their family?

Any info would be helpful.

Archer Unknown
Could you please tell me if there was a headstone for #19836346 Old Woodbury in Hill County, Tx. I noticed that there are only 3 Archer's buried there and I believe this unknown could be the one I'm looking for. The others are part of the Archer group.

Thanks Linda
