Although I am fairly new to Find A Grave, I have been doing family history research on and off since 1970. It is time consuming, as well as a labor of love, and extremely rewarding. Now that I have retired, I am able to spend more time on my favorite hobby.
I am researching these names (ancestors and descendants): In TN and NC: Sharp/Sharpe, Cooper, Welch, Hatmaker, Duke, Hafford, Tinsley, Tucker, Farbridge, Burton, Mosier, Jarnagan/Jarnagon/possibly Jernigan.
In VA and GA: Watson, Halburt, Burdyne.
In Glamorgan, Wales, UK: Greenberry or Green Berry Hill.
In Kent, UK: John Stevens.
In UK: Thomas Fay/Faye; Margaret Maiter/Maher/Maier, Ellen Lynch, David Lynch, Bolling.
In NY: William Henry Stevens & Maggie/Mary/Mae Fay(e).
In Arkansas: Garrett, Wilson, Calhoun, Farbridge, Hamilton, Hafford.
In VA, GA & FL: Hill, Callahan, Cain, Bradford, Power, Sims, Caraway/Carraway/Cariway, Grisham/Gresham/Grissom.
In VA and OH: Moon.
In GA, AL, FL, TX and OK: Zellner.
I manage the memorial sites for several family members and ancestors, as well as some very dear family friends.
A special place in my heart is held for the FAG memorial # 26414618, that of my beloved daughter, Lauren Elizabeth Hafford . If you visit her memorial, please leave a remembrance so I will know you have visited.
Here is a wonderful quote by a man I had the pleasure of hearing in person when I was a university student many moons ago: "I know for certain that we never lose the people we love, even to death. They continue to participate in every act, thought and decision we make. Their love leaves an indelible imprint in our memories. We find comfort in knowing that our lives have been enriched by having shared their love." Leo F. Buscaglia
I love my FAG friends, and have met some wonderful people associated with this website. I enjoy getting emails from fellow FAG members and visitors. You may want to leave a token at a memorial created in tribute to Fallen Gravers. These people have passed on, but were a part of our group when they were living.
One of my favorite things to do is leave flowers for infants, children or young adults who have been taken from us too soon. It makes me feel sad when I see a memorial that has been created and no one has left a flower for that person. I feel everyone should have a flower at their memorial site to show that someone remembers them.
If you see a memorial for one of your family members that I have created, please let me know how you are related to that person. I will happily transfer them to you, unless they are also a relative of mine. I feel the memorials should be with loved ones (family) whenever possible. Please use the Edit tab on the memorial for that relative to request a transfer. I take great care with the memorials I create, and I like to include as much information as I have available. If you have a picture, information to add, or a correction, please let me know via the Edit tab. (Thanks.) I feel the memorials are not only a lasting tribute to the person, but they are a very valuale resource for fellow genealogists and family historians.

 | bicycle Thanks Gwen.
Actually I was peddling 10 - 30 miles a day from day one. I was a jogger before I was a biker, and I've worked out all my life.

Thank you for your kind remarks about the volume I wrote about Buddy.
Yes, doing well here. I've lost 30 lbs, as I ride a bike 10 miles a day.

 | RE: Thank you! Hi. Thank you for your kind offer. Apparently there were some problems with getting my father's military marker placed (a death in the family of the caretaker). I spoke with the caretaker last Friday and he has promised me that he will tend to it getting set very soon and let me know when it's complete. I don't know the plot number, but can give reasonable directions. If you are approaching the cemetery from the south and make a U-turn at the north side of it, you would enter thru the first opening in the brick wall that you come to. My parents grave is (maybe) 4 or 5 rows before you get to the circle. Just one row to the west of their row is a trash can attached to a sign pole. If you look at the photo of the honor guard present at Dad's funeral you will see a gate in the background. That gate leads to the road that is on the north side of the cemetery. I do need to talk with you further about my Dad's memorial page, but I'm not sure how to go about that. Is it okay to leave my email address here (on a public message)?Added by Kathleen on Feb 15, 2013 10:14 AM | | | NY ladybug
