CURRENTLY ADDING New Haven, Ct. area burials

I NEED HELP with searching for John F. Smith - b. in Holland circa 1815 - lived in New Haven up to mid-1860's - served in Co. G., 6th Regiment CT - married to Bridget Lonergan in 1852 in New Haven - disappears from records after 1865 - no military pension or VA death record found. Any info. about when/where Mr. Smith died and his place of burial will be much appreciated.

I'M WILLING TO transfer my non-relative listings, so don't be shy about asking.

FOCUS on sharing information and cooperating with one another to preserve history.

Thank you for letting me know the gravestone was incorrect. Do you, by any chance, have access to the New Haven Register for that year? If so, would it be worth it to transcribe her obit?

Hi Sue,
Thank you for taking the time to post these memorials for Dunning cemetery. Your information has helped in my search for my mother's ancestors. My mother never met her grandparents and I have been trying to find the answers to her questions about her family. It is sad that the Dunning cemetery seems to be a dumping ground for the unknown or poor. So sad. From what information I have gathered my great grandparents were just that. Poor Irish immigrants. Again, I thank you for your time and work to memorialize those who were forgotten.

Read Dunning Cemetery
Sue, I see you added a huge amount of Read Dunning memorials, including details of those people's lives. You also added information on the cemetery into your own bio. So you might add this link to your information about the cemetery, because the website has a huge amount of information on the cemetery, the burials, and much, much more:

Honoring the deceased
Hello Sue F.
I just want to thank you for your commitment to honor the deceased. I would like to stay in communication with you. I have had many challenges with burial sites in Mississippi. I had no idea that those same challenges are here in Chicagoland.

Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help.
