I will correct any typos/errors and add maiden names to my postings; PLEASE SEND E-MAIL. I have no way of knowing when a gravestone photo has been posted or if there is a discrepancy. Since inscription lists and cemetery/burial records have typos/errors there is no way I can correct these without notification.

I will transfer postings of direct relatives; only your children, siblings, parents. No bulk surname requests. I'm sorry, but someone who died 100+ years ago could be related to many people. I prefer you add the posting under the virtual cemetery feature at Find A Grave. There is also a "link" option to link relatives.
Please add photos to any posting.

In compiling a family history every clue helps, and findagrave database (cemetery listings) provides names and DATES. I hope everyone will add what they are able, to the findagrave database.

NOTE: My husband became very ill last May & I got very behind in the additions/corrections and linking of names. I am trying to catch up.

I am also working on a very important legal research project.

Samuel Griggs born and died in 1797
Hi Karen,

I haven't been in touch in several years.

I found out yesterday that my ancestor, John S. Griggs was the son of Samuel Griggs, who was married to Catherine "Caty".

I believe that the tombstone you posted for Samuel Griggs, died 28 Sep 1797, buried Old Newton, was probably the brother of John S. In that case his mother's name should be "Caty" instead of "Cary". The stone looks like it's broken there.

Other family of Ford Castimore
Have been working on this family. Do you want more information?

He had children Lewis Haggarty Castimore, Benjamim Harrison Castimore, George Castimore, Ira Castimore, Sarah Castimore, Charlotte Castimore, and Charles E. Castimore.

This is not my personal family line, but one of a friend with whom I grew up.

Eveline Cornelia Devore was his wife's maiden name, but was known as Nealey.

Ford was the son of Benjamin Castimore who had two wives: Catherine Sargent and Emmaline

Slidell MacKenzie Howell
Hi Karen
For some reason this edit was posted two times, this has been happening often and I not sure why. If it made extra work for you, I'm sorry.

Hi Karen,
Thank you for the work that you do.
I have been searching for info re James Dillon for a while. He is my uncle . His mother's name is Norma Dillon. I have not been able to locate his obituary from the Port Jervis Union Gazette. I would `appreciate your help in locating this.

Thank you again,

Lantermans and relatives
I am attempting to connect all descendants of John Peter Lanterman and his wife Elizabeth Peterson to their parents. As a result I will be sending a large number of automated updates, as you have entered a number of their descendants in New Jersey. My source is Lantermans in America and other records. Lantermans in America is an old style genealogy without sources for many entries, but so far I have found only minor errors, and have confirmed most of what is in it through Findagrave, birth records, and the census.

If you prefer having records I can send what I have.

Karen, I just got two notices for an edit I sent you. I do not know why it posted twice. I only click ONE time to send it. So sorry, I didn't intend to bombard you!

Elizabeth Shipman Garrigus
Hi Karen:

I noticed there was no father listed for
Elizabeth Shipman Garrigus on her Find a Grave site. I found a record listing New Jersey Births and Christenings that listed her father as Samuel Shipman. I noticed that one of her sons was named Samuel which seems to support that link.

Thank you very much for all the hard work you do on this site!

Elizabeth Hackett Hamblin 74898886
Karen would you please tranfer Elizabeth Hackett Hamblin 74898886. This is my husband grandmother and his father (Artjur John Vickers) is also listed on the page I thing by a cousin who has passed.
The information on the page is wrong. Never married a Carter. I requested the photo from another person and it proves she is married to My husbands grandfather.
Thank you Josephine Vickers aka Jo-Ann
