My name is Mike Daley and I am the great-great grandson of Mose Slaton Nunley. Mose established the Nunley Family Cemetery off of what today is called Airport Road on his land in Iuka, Mississippi around 1900 due to some type of family disagreement regarding the original Carpenter/Nunley Cemetery where his father William Nunley was buried. |
My grandmother, Minnie Hilda Bacon was raised by Mose and his third wife Myra Jane until she was approximately six years old. My grandmother's mother, Minnie Alice Nunley Bacon is buried at the Nunley Family Cemetery.
My grandmother first took me to visit this cemetery in 1966 when I was a boy and many times thereafter. At the time I did not appreciate the family history nor legacy that was there but today I understand and have the same strong feelings. She died in 2005 so I am carrying on the tradition of placing flowers on her mother's grave site.
I have taken my son, daughter and granddaughter to the cemetery and hope that they too will understand the importance of our family history.

thanks so much for the picture!!! It is truly appreciated......
Thanks again for this photo of James Abbott's marker at the Shiloh National Memorial Park.
I just updated his errant memorial at Philadelphia National Cemetery. Other than being wrong, it looks pretty good, and now directs people to the correct memorial.
Thanks again for allowing me the use of this picture.

Hi Mike, I am writing to ask if I may use your photos of my ancestors like Enos in my family tree on ancestry. I give the photographer full credit and always refer to the findagrave memorial. Thank you so much for what you have done. Nan

Mr. Daley, I'm Pamela Strickland's 1st cousin. I saw where you added Pamela's gravestone. I couldn't figure out how to get information to the person that added Pamela's memorial. I have additional information about Pamela's family.
Father: Elmer Strickland, I'm not sure where he is buried, but I think it is in Farmington or Corinth. I don't have any info. about him.
Mother: Bertie Sanders Strickland is buried in Hilltop Cemetery in Centerville, Tn. in Hickman Co.
Stephen or Steven Strickland buried in Hilltop Cemetery.
Michael Strickland, lives in Farmington/Corinth
Joel Strickland, lives somewhere in Mississippi
Mark Strickland, lives in Farmington/Corinth
Pamela's middle name is Mary. My Aunt Bertie named all children Biblical names. I have a picture of Pamela taken, near the time of her death, but I don't know how to get it to anyone.
I would appreciate it very much, if you could help get this info. added to Pamela's memorial.
Thank you so very much Mr. Daley

Sorry I posted a photo to the wrong memorial without knowing it was a photo request. I'm still looking for Betty and your other request at Mt. Gilead.

|Trudy Haven||Guys TN Cemeteries|
Thank you so much for your hard work for findagrave and for your help on this! My friend knows that it is a family cemetery in the Guys area. He says it is one block west of the intersection of Guys-Chewalle Road & Guys-Gin Road, East of the post office. He says that there are houses sitting in front of the cemetery, and that it is not visible from the street. He believes the access could be from Hwy. 237, if that is the correct Hwy. #, and believes #237 connects to Hwy. 45. I hope you can find it. Thanks again!
|Trudy Haven||Becks At Houston Cemetery?|
I am working on the Beck and Hamm line for a friend of mine. He recalls that his Grandfather, Osmond Houston Beck, and his Grandmother, Evonne "Ronnie" Hamm Beck, were buried at a Guys TN, cemetery in McNairy County. He says, that it is a family cemetery, that his Grandparents had an adjoining monument, and that they were indeed buried side-by-side. He recalls that his Grandmother died in 1999. I have, so far, not been able to locate the monument information. I am hoping you can help.
