|Bio and Links|
We are a volunteer group at Oak Hill Cemetery in Minneapolis ---the "Friends of Oak Hill Cemetery of Minneapolis." We organized last year for the purposes of collecting, organizing and preserving the records and site of this 1859 historic, once rural cemetery in today's south Minneapolis (once a part of Richfield).|
Our group is trying to add memorials honoring the many early residents of Richfield and Minneapolis buried at Oak Hill Cemetery. We ask your patience and help in supplementing the cemetery's records with family records and photos. PLEASE DO SEND ON THE SOURCES FOR ANY EDITS OR UPDATES YOU SUGGEST AS WE NEED TO ENTER THIS INFORMATION IN OUR RECORDS TO INSURE ACCURACY IN THE MEMORIALS.
There are large numbers of early Richfield, Edina, Bloomington area farm families here, and also numbers of veterans. Many veterans have service records in the Indian Wars, Civil War, Spanish-American War as well as World Wars I and II. This is truly a Heritage Cemetery worthy of recognition and preservation.
Suggestions, comments and genealogical information about Oak Hill burials are always welcome. We would love to hear from you.
Please use the EDIT tab to contact us AND please list the source and send on a document for any suggested edits.
We are a volunteer group and a bit slow, Please be patient. Thank you so much.
