Christopher:

No known family relation.
I have not found the memorial you are referring to, so unsure how you related the connection.

Faith (Clarke) Doty Phillips gravestone photo
May I have your permission to download the photo of the gravestone of Faith (Clarke) Doty Phillips (Memorial# 16705388)?
I would like to upload it into my Ancestry Family Tree.
Thank you for your consideration and hard work!

RE: Bethany Cemetery
It's not an easy cemetery to find and no easy way to describe its location! Its been a few years since I was last at it so things could have changed - Bethany Church sits on Rt 93 east of Logan standing with my back to the church---the cemetery is across the street on my right and up on a rise/hill in an open field. In the field is/was an old oil/gas tank and some other junk there is/ was a dirt/gravel road that you could turn off of Rt 93 and park car/truck. If as in the past, as soon as you pull in road the owner, who lives across the street, will be out asking why you are on his land! The cemetery is in terrible shape with no that many stones standing. May I ask who you are looking for? I made a list of stones standing/found the last time I was there.

Joshua Hearn
The letter you referred to was taken from the Walker County, Georgia Heritage 1833-1983 book. It was put in there by Joshua's grandson Walter Hearn who was my uncle by marriage. I feel like this history is correct.

Faith Clark Doty Phillips
Hello,
It has come to my attention that permission is required for photo use from findagrave. I am in the process of going through my ancestry.com tree and trying to obtain that permission for photos I have either downloaded myself from findagrave or copied from someone else on ancestry that were taken from findagrave. I seem to have one of yours: Faith Clark Doty Phillips, buried in Winslow Cem in Plymouth Co, Mass. I have calculated that Faith is my 9x great grandmother.
Would it be alright with you for this photo to remain in my ancestry tree? It would really mean a lot to me! I have now added credit for the photo, but will remove the whole thing if you wish.
Thank you for your consideration!

RE: Old Hurst Cemetery
Christopher: I visited the site in 1975 and the stones were all lying down as the farmer that owned the property allowed his cows to roam the pasture that had the old cemetery in it. I gathered the information listed by first hand and from a 1940 something listing. I understand that the present owner will not allow you to visit the site. My great grandfather was Frederick Rockey who married Sarah Frances Hurst, her father was John L. Hurst, his father was Henry Hurst, whose father was Capt. John Hurst, and he is buried at Old Hursttown. If I can help you further contact me at billducknow@aim.com
