I live in Augusta County, Virginia. I started out with findagrave by listing family surnames that I am researching - Albert, Sites, & Stokes. |
The photo is the grave of my Granddad's little brother Lewis. Family members couldn't remember the location of the grave. Then one day while looking at an old photo album with my Grandma, I asked about a photo. Grandma's answer was the clue needed to find the grave. What was lost was found.
If you have the time, please stop by and visit my heroes. They have had a great influence in my life and I miss them very much. My Granddad Albert & Grandma Albert, my Great Grandma Stokes and my 2nd Mom.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. Please include findagrave in the email subject line.
I will gladly add information to a memorial, but in doing so, I will link the contributor to the information provided. If you do not wish your findagrave name to be linked to the information, please do not provide it. I will not add information without the source of that information.

|V S||Hildebrand Cemetery|
I was doing some research on the Gochenour family who are buried in Hildebrand Cemetery. Is everyone who is buried in a Mennonite Cemetery part of the religion? Trying to find out if this family is Mennonite. Thanks.

Thank you for the research you are adding to the Jacob Allen Albert, Sr. line. That is also my line:
Jacob Allen Albert, Sr - Jacob Allen, Jr. - William Riley - to Margaret Ann "Jane" Albert, who was my great-grandmother. Through my research in the Albert family, I had many names for which I did not have dates, marriages, etc. Your Find A Grave memorials for the family have added much to my family information and I appreciate your efforts.
|Brenda Kite||Kite /Pirkey Family|
I have been researching my family ancestry and came across the picture you posted under Noah B. Kite and Isabelle Pirkey Kites burial records.
They were my Great Great Great Grandparents, their daughter Caroline Pirkey Kite married my Great Great Grandfather R.W. (Robert) Kite. R.W. father, John (or maybe Jon) was married to Mary B. Eppard. John may or may not be a brother to Noah.
I am looking for any family information and would greatly appreciate any assistance you could provide. I have a "Flower" on all of the burial records I have found. I can be contacted at; firstname.lastname@example.org
Thank you in advance for your time,

The listing shows David H. Simmers 1903-1963 and his wife Mary V. Simmers 1912-1996. You show her sirname as Weatherholtz. Is this correct or should it be Simmers? Lois

Find A Grave Memorial# 11429101
Any chance of getting a copy of your photo of the "Confederate Dead" monument attached to this memorial?
I am a descendant of the Grigsby,and Fewell lines..on Verlinda Porter's stone, the engraver I believe it is Fagan,not Fagin. If u look closely enough,you'll see the slash slants like the first A,no big deal,just thought I'd mention it,encase you are trying to correct about it. Have a nice day.

|CJ Moore||Picture of Brick wall with Fairview Cemetery|
Hi Mike. I recently added 5 gravesites for RAFFERTY to the Fairview Cemetery in Botecourt County, Virginia. You, in turn, added a picture of a Brick Wall with Fairview Cemetery. I have been ill and unable to work on these additions. I am getting ready to update them very soon. However, I am in question to where this wall is located?? My Picture shows an entrance with a pillar on each side. A sign on one pillar says 111 Fairview Street the other has a sign which says Fairview Cemetery Est. 1854. This is the picture I was about to add when I saw your picture. Is this the same Fairview Cemetery? I did not see a Brick Wall. If it is then where is it located? My findagrave contributor number is 48467450.
Thank you for your help. Connie

|Sue K||Confederate Cemetery Photos|
Dear Mike, I just wanted to write to say thank you for all the photos at Charlottesville, VA Confederate Cemetery. My mothers uncle is buried there. My husband and I were there in 2005 and it was aweinspiring to walk where my mothers uncle is laid to rest. I know he had a uncle who died in the Battle of Cedar Run but have never found where he is buried. I have always wondered if I could order a confederate headstone for my William Thomas Medlin who has a flat stone but I cant even remember how I located it. If you are close by and have info could you answer my message please?
Thank you, Sue K
