I was fortunate enough to have a distant relative pass on to me two generations work of family genealogy information. This has given me a new interest in the subject, and I just can't seem to stop researching and searching. This is but one of many things that takes up my time and energy. I have enjoyed this immensely, and I'm slowly visiting cemetery's of my ancestors documenting, reinforcing and adding information to my collection. I try to fulfill photo requests in my travels, and post others not requested. My bio photo is the soldiers lot memorial enacted by congress in 1884 at the Lakeside Cemetery in Pt. Huron, Michigan. It is one of the most stunning memorials/statues I have seen. A sad fact but true, that cemetery's are some of the richest places for knowledge and experience, passed on.

 | William John Crorey Hello, I have spent the last three weekends going through Brookside Cemetery here in Winnipeg, MB. I have located William John Crorey in the list of internments they have with a death date of 11 Jan 1957. However, upon going to Section 48 Plot 0131-0 where he is suppose to be, that area of the cemetery is quite old and some headstones are broken or turned over. I have left a message with the admin office to see if they know if he is interned in the right area or any other info they can give me. I will keep you posted when I hear back from them. Thank you Michele

 | Ralph McGregor Hi:
Was wondering if you had a picture of Ralph? I am working on creating a memorial to the men and women that served in 32nd Service Co for Michigan.
Thanks JimAdded by Jim Cox on Apr 05, 2012 7:55 PM | | | Eldred Pickett
 | RE: PFC Olson You're very welcome! Even if I'm looking for someone else, I usually take pictures of any military headstones I come across. I guess I have a soft spot for veterans, since my dad served in WWII... | | | Bob Spear

 | RE: Photo Edit I took the photos down, it was a pretty dreary day when I took them. I didn't get closeups so the individual names are just from cropping the large image. I look forward to seeing the new pictures. I haven't been to Washington since the end of September so that must have been someone else. | | | Dick Rohr
 | Pierik Thanx for update for his gravesite. I input what data is included in the newspaper obit - sometimes it lacking. | | | Don & Wendy McCallum
 | RE: Leah and Laforest LaForest was my step-grandfather. His Father Oliver Crorey was born on 11 Mar 1893 to a John & Emma Major in the Berrien County poorhouse. In 1910, Oliver Major is living in Bridgehampton Twp, listed as the adopted son of a David (age 52?) & Matilda (age 47?) Crorey. He has an older-step sister Mary aged 21. David's 80 year old widowed mother Mary is also living with the family. Does that sound like it matches up with any of your Croreys? | | | Freida Karen
 | Ithrene McGregor Happy to transfer memorial. Please let me know if I have any other family members. | | | Don & Wendy McCallum
 | RE: Transfer You're welcome. My step-grandfather was a Crorey, but as far as I can tell is not related to David or Jane. The Crorey name caught my eye as well as the beautiful zinc stone. | | | Gale
