You meet all kinds of people on Findagrave... most of whom are helpful, kind, and polite. Just spending a few minutes a day on Findgrave can provide a great deal of genealogical input. Thank you for your co-operation! If I can assist anyone, please contact me. |
My father, David Kennedy, was an avid genealogical researcher, so you could say, this was one of my inherited interests. He started his search in 1959 after meeting then Senator John F. Kennedy in Washington, DC. He asked my father if we were Catholic or Protestant Kennedys, after which Senator Kennedy suggested that since we were not Catholic, we must have entered the US via Northern Ireland. And the search continues...
Some of my direct lines are Kennedy,Clayton, Merritt, Head, Prothro, Crouch, Wright, Goodwin, Bledsoe, Breazeale, Smith, Guyton, Moorhead, Kirksey, Wyatt, Griffin, Richardson, Meyer, Johnston, Lott, Knox, Gaston, Barnett, Ray, Sharp, Alverson. I have been working on my genealogy since the 1990s. If I have a memorial which is in your family and not mine, I will be more than glad to transfer it to you. I always try to give credit to those who have done genealogical research ... just a very common courtesy.... Thanks y'all.

They are interred in the same cemetery as Mary Cothran. To be sure I was correct, I check the transcription listed on the USGenWebTombstone Project.
I haven't done a comparison, but I am willing to bet the majority of memorials in the black Pleasant Hill should be in the white Pleasant Hill.

Hi Fran, I've linked James Marvin Carnes to his father and mother. My husband's aunt, Mary Christine Carnes Stanford, was a daughter of James Marvin and wife Estelle Deese Carnes. Thanks for sending the links. ~Barbara

Record Hunter sure did. Some contributors will delete a memorial rather than make corrections. I don't know if it is because they don't know how or what. Are you going to create her parents a new memorial in the correct cemetery? If not, let me know and I will.
Thanks for the heads up.

No thanks needed, I know just how you feel. It's my pleasure!!
|Sue Leitzsey Bradley||Mary Cothran|
Thanks and I'm delighted that Ms. Cothran would approve of her memorial. Now I need to to have her parents moved to the correct cemetery, which is the one she is interred in. There is two Pleasant Hill Baptist Church's in Oconee County. One is a white church and the other is a black church. Her parents are in the black Pleasant Hill Baptist.

I'm happy to remove the "flower" if you can tell me how! I've tried several things, none of which worked. Let me know if you have any ideas!
|Louise||RE: Roane County, TN|
The next time I am at the Roane County Heritage Commission, I will check the cemetery books. I think they also have Morgan County books. Evergreen Cemetery may be known by a different name. I will ask the historian. I have found numerous errors/misleading information on TN death certs . . often listing the local community where the burial took place rather than the actual cemetery. Give me a week or so to check this out.
