I've been doing genealogy now for about 20 years and find FindaGrave to be invaluable tool for research. |
I have very deep roots in Giles Co., TN, Newberry Co., SC and Bucks Co., PA, so you may see me poking around in those cemeteries quite a bit.
I'm very active in genetic genealogy and run several DNA projects at Family Tree DNA. I've also had autosomal testing done on Ancestry, 23andme and Family Tree DNA.
I don't follow FindaGrave guidelines for transfers. If I manage a memorial you'd like to manage, please request a transfer via "Suggest a Correction." My goal is to get all memorials into the hands of someone who will add more info to it.
I'm hesitant to post dumps from family tree software in the Bio sections, so please refrain from sending that.
You're welcome to use my photos, but photo credit would be nice.

I knew that i typed it incorrectly about David and John Jones. I was so excited about finding information about my great grandmother. I went to Mount Carmel Cemetery and Stella Cementey today with my cousin. I took numerous pictures. I have data on the Gardner's from 1066 to the late 1500's then nothing until we found James Gardner who is buried in John Black cemetery in minor hill,tn. Thank you for responding.

My great grandmother was Mary Susan Jones Gardner who is the daughter of John A.L. Jones and Dicey Helms Jones. I have found this site wonderful. My cousin and I have been researching the farmers and figured it would almost be impossible to fine the Jones's. However I've stumbled onto them, what a gift. We have hit an end on the Gardner's from James and Harriet which are buried in John Black cemetery. We can't seem to find out who James father is. We think it might be W.C Gardner from Williamsport, Tn Maury county. Just a hunch on my part though since they named one of their sons Maury. if you have any info on the Gardner's past this would love to know it. Thank you for everything else that I've learned.
|Carol Payne||RE: Thomas Griggs cause of death|
Yes, I have that info. Just not sure where he's buried. According to a lady in Giles County says he's buried in the Smith Cemetery across the road in Lynnville from the Lynnville Cemetery, but his name is not listed there and although I've visited the site, didn't find the markers yet. There's a house (falling down) on the land and I've walked around it and been in the house, haven't found the cemetery. Will try to go closer to winter after brush dies back. It's really grown up. Don't really expect to find a marker for him, even though he might be buried there. A lot of that!!!
One of his wives, Eliza Angeline Taylor Griggs is buried at Prospect Cemetery in South Giles County.
They're my 2nd great grandparents.

I don't know if I thanked you properly for all your research on Bob Johnson.

I do believe that is him too. I wonder if we can find obits on Bob's parents. Maybe, that would give us some of his relatives names. I appreciate it everything that you have contributed. Such a blessing.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
