Thank you so much. My family had told me that Lee was a nickname for Lawrence. I remember when this happened. I had met Lee once and took an instant dislike to him, not something that usually happens. I was told that he went to his elderly mother DEMANDING that she give him money and when she wouldn't he killed her. Even years ago when I met him and he was living in Laporte he apparently didn't feel the need to GO GET A JOB! I have a big tree on Ancestry. The name of the tree strings together a whole bunch of family names Edkin/Little/.... I am also Park, Laird, Stepp, Horn, Hirleman, Glidewell. I'm sure you have come across some of those names. Did Lee and Lawrence have any other siblings?

I was wondering if you knew who to contact about someone buried in Cedar Hill Cemetery but the plot location has been forgotten. Viola May Shearer 1900-1909 and James Albert Shearer 1904 to 1920. I tried the phone number online but no one answers. Thanks, Jane2bzy

Thanks, Beth for getting her death removed by Jason. I have since gotten to know Jason through ancestry.com. I didn't know how any of this worked until my husband signed me up for ancestry.com.

You are welcome. Cigar maker is on his DC. It was a big industry at one time. The tobacco grown on the Island was used as rolling leaves. Daughter Ellen married a Schroat, my distant relatives by marriage.--Storres

Thank you, Beth, for the text of the inscription!
I brightened the photo of the face of the gravestone for better legibility, uploaded the brighter version, and gave you credit for the photo in the caption.
If you want, you can save the photo and then re-upload it under your name, and I will delete the one I posted.
