I have been doing genealogical research since 1978, when my grandmother passed away and I realized that it was my time to remember the stories of my forefathers and foremothers. To find out more about my family lines, please check out my website.

RE: Alonzo and Thesta Weaver
You seem to have done a lot of research, you are to be commended!!! What I have in these Memorials is from their Missouri death certificates, which by no means holds proof positive. One never knows if the names given are truly the correct parent names. Some have been names of a grandparent, brother, sister, son or daughter in the parent category. I have not yet done any research on the Weavers, I am now on Ancestry as a member and finding a lot of answers, but it is a slow process with updates. I expect that everything you found is very much correct and I'll do my best to get it posted and/or make the corrections. I appreciate your sharing, and thank you for, the information!!!

RE: Thanks for your information
Re: Thomas A Shaw

The information on where he came from was in a book of cemetery listings for Greene County, Illinois. Usually what is printed in the book is what is on the stone, so I assume his stone says he's "a native of Ireland, County Antrin". The same appears for his wife Esther.

You can go to his memorial and request a photo of his stone.

Bettis Genealogy

The death notice I have for Truman Bettis
1807-1867 that appeared in the Oneida (N.Y.)
Dispatch says he was formerly of Westmoreland.
Several of the death certificates of his children are listed as having been born in
Oswego County, N.Y.

His wife was Phoebe Ann Wade, 1823-1881. They
are buried in Morrisville Rural Cemetery in
Morrisville,N.Y.

The federal census prior to 1850 is very vague
and not of much help. I suspect that either
Benjamin Bettis or Andrew Bettis was the father
of Truman Bettis.
