My ancestors were from Ireland and England|

Your tombstone stands among the rest;
Neglected and alone.
The name and date are chiseled out,
On polished, marbled stone.
It reaches out to all who care...
It is too late to mourn.
You did not know that I exist,
You died and I was born.
Yet each of us are cells of you,
In flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
Entirely not our own.
Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
One hundred years ago,
Spreads out among the ones you left
Who would have loved you so.
I wonder if you lived and loved,
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot
And come visit you."
(This poem was written in 1906 by Walter Butler Palmer)
I work hard to get my information as accurate as possible and am thankful when other contributors do the same. I generally don't enter information such as inscriptions that are easily readable from the picture (why by redundant?), but I'm happy to make any corrections needed. Just please use the "Edit" tab on the memorial. It's easier to manage the emails that way. Thanks!
Photo's: Please feel free to make copies of the photo's that I have taken and posted here. I do ask that if you post them to other websites please give me credit for taking them as a courtesy.

|BJWeir||Thanks for the help!|
Thank you very much for taking the time to locate and take a photo of my Great Aunt Alice Weir's gravesite. Sad that there isn't a headstone. Your help is appreciated. I also liked your photo on your member page from on top of the WTC. My late father was an Ironworker and worked on the original WTC. BTW - Did you happen to notice the name on the headstone hidden behind the bush that appears on the right side of Alice's grave in the photo?
Thanks again, BJ

Appreciate it! Well...guess I'll just have to keep searching for any proof she existed. :)

|Kristin||Rosa Sancetta (Sangotta)|
Thank you for posting a photo, but I'm not sure if it's the correct marker. There is no record of Rosa on it, is it possible her name is on another side of the family marker? Tarantola was her maiden name. Any information about this marker would be appreciated. Thanks! -Kristin

|Caz||O'Day/Day plot Calvary|
Hi JP - I have added more memorials for the additional family members that are buried in this plot. You had previously photographed this headstone a while ago...did you want to add it to the new memorials I created? If it's easier to request photo's I can do it that way or whichever way you prefer.
Example: Ellen O'Day memorial #83782347 (with photo)
Memorials that need (same) photo:
John J: 125941525
Vincent: # 125941799
Michael Harrington: 125942542
Agnes O'Day: 125942629
Thanks so much!

Thank you so much for taking the photo for me. The family will be thrilled to see it.
|D M Rossie||Haddad-Russo Memorial|
Thank you so much for the photo of this memorial. I only recently discovered that many New Yorkers are buried in the same grave site. It never occurred to me where all of those millions of people were buried. According to cemetery records, there are many Haddads buried here. I love the snow in the background.
|Alexandra Cooper||Thank you!|
Thanks so much for filling my headstone photo request! I appreciate it!
|JR Nolan||Denis Devine|
Thank you for your time and effort for taking the photo of Denis Devine's gravestone. Seeing a gravestone with new names just adds to my search for family members.
Thank you very much.

Thank you for the photo of the West stone!
Thanks so much for taking a photo of the plot for me. I am disappointed that there is no stone though. Thank you again. Viva
