My interest in Genealogy started from my mother's interest in mid 1970 when she retired. At that time most of her information was from family Bibles, interviews with relatives and record books at the various counties involved. |
Those were the days of visiting libraries, reading books, and searching with microfilm before personal computers and the internet had been invented.
Since then I have added over 6700 individual names of our genealogy to my computer program. I am a current member of GSSI (Genealogy Society of Southern Illinois) and serve on the board of directors.
Genealogy is a hobby and not a full time job. Another of my hobbies involves the preservation of silent film Theatre organ music. In that pursuit, I am a member of the American Theatre Organ Society (ATOS) and of a local chapter in St. Louis (SLTOS).
Family names in my searches:
Riggin, Ferguson, Patterson, Sanders, Simpson, Reese, Winstead, Pike, Metz, Hein, Henry, Drake, McIntosh, Schluter, Johnson, Jones, Boyd, Finney, Lingle, Earnhart, plus more...
Mostly Illinois, Kentucky, Missouri, Tennessee and North Carolina.
1) Illinois: Union, Pulaski, Hardin, Bond, Montgomery, Madison & Williamson counties.
2) Missouri: St. Louis & Dallas counties.
3) Kentucky: Crittenden, Union, Webster & Muhlenberg counties.
4) Tennessee: Davidson, Sevier & Williamson counties.
5) (Tennessee was part of North Carolina prior to becoming a state in 1790).

Dear Friend ---thank you for finding and photographing my cousin David Monroe Boin (D M), wife Nellie and daughter Georgia William Boin----family found ---I appreciate findagrave volunteers more than you know Myrtle Mandane Ennis of Warren Co, Ky
Thanks so much for fulfilling the headstone picture request for Kenneth. Too bad the stone didn't have more information, but I truly appreciate your efforts in getting the picture for me.
