My husband and I have been "genealogy junkies" for over twenty years. Of course, this means that we have prowled around in many cemeteries searching for the final resting places of our ancestors. An organization that I belong to is U.S. Daughters of the War of 1812. One of our recent projects is finding the burial locations of the men who fought in the War of 1812 who are buried in Michigan. My goal is to put the pictures of the tombstones for the soldiers that I found in Kent and Ottawa Counties on Find A Grave. And, it may take me all winter, but our ancestors will also be posted. Find A Grave is the BEST!!

Almon Ford
Hi,
I am a direct descendant of Almon Ford and live near the cemetery where he is buried. Do you also want pictures of the other members of his family that are buried there?

How are you related?

You are very welcome. I went back today and was able to get better photographs. I've already uploaded them.
Take care,

Way in the back forty - but it's quiet and peaceful. Glad you are pleased.

I forgot to mention that I have a friend named Claudette. She was born in Oklahoma and came to Oregon several years ago. I never thought I'd ever meet or hear of anyone else with that first name.

RE: Kate Gage
You are very welcome for Kete's grave marker photo. I washed the stone and then took the photo. Since our winter temperature was below freezing, the water was turning to frost and ice before I actually took the photo. I chose the best of the several photos I took, but the one I chose still wasn't as clear and as good as I wanted.
