Sorry to say but NYC's Potter's Field is located on a restricted island (Hart). No one except direct family members are allowed to travel there. The Department of Corrections which supervises burials on the island allows visitation 1 day a month. There are no individual graves here, and no headstones. You can only observe the general area from a gazebo that is removed from the burial sites. Sorry I couldn't help.

Zibell grave question

Yes, Minnie J Zibell is in the same grave, #54, as the following persons: John Carr, Henry L Bowe and Lizibell L Bowe. Additionally, there are the ashes of Florence Carr died 29 August 1990 in grave 54. Graves 53, 54, 55, and 56 are owned by the same person. Names in these other graves are: George F Welsh, grave 53; Joanna Welsh, grave 55; and grave 56 has M. Miranda West and Ralph G Harris.

I hope that this helps you. snook

RE: Shawsheen Cemetery
Hi Ed

I can certainly take a ride to Bedford for you again. Time goes quickly.

Please give me the name of the person, I have the location in my mind clearly of where the headstone is.

I also have a new camera so it should take better photos.

Hi...yes, I know Tony...have you tried this.

Contact the Find A Grave member who created the memorial via the "Suggest a Correction" link under the "Edit" tab on the memorial in question with your request to have the memorial management transferred to you. This will send an email request to the contributor, even if there is not an email address listed on their contributor page.

When I ask for a transfer I add all the numbers

"please transfer to me or link to
Father #1234567 (comes from the bottom of the memorial)
Mother #7654321

Thank you

If this doesn't work I will find him

I do not know who Tony Cannon is, but here is how you can find him, if he is a member of Find A Grave.

Go to 'Contributor Tools'. From the Customize box, click the 'edit' button next to 'My Find A Grave Friends', then select the 'Find Members' link. There are two different Tony's listed.

Hi Ed,

I do not work for Find A Grave. I am only trying to get a more accurate count for those who are in that cemetery. You should look at the original memorial that was created first, the one that has been transferred to you and use that memorial number to link her to her family. You have control over both of memorials. I know it will be a pain to change all the links.

Find A Grave has some guidelines (or I hate to call them Rules) about the memorials created on their site, I know there is a lot of them but, maybe you could look at the section about "Editing and Correcting memorials" in the "Help with Find A Grave" section on their site. Since the first memorial was created by someone else the second one is the one that should be deleted. Unless you were the original creator then you could delete whichever one you want, but since that is not the case, you should follow their rules.

So far I have gone through, just this one cemetery and found 536 duplicates and I am only in the K's.

Thank you for your reply,

RE: Beich Headstone
Hi Edward, I'm happy I could help! I was back at the cemetery and took pictures of the Jordan side of Patricia's marker--I needed the morning sun to get a good picture! I have emailed those pictures to you. The only other members of the Beich family buried within the Chicago Catholic Cemetery System are: 1. John Joseph Beich- @ St. Boniface, Section B, block 40 lot 123. 2. Hedwig Beich interred 5-29-22 @ St Joseph in River Grove, Section C, Block 4, Grave 50 and 3. Reinhold Beich interred 8-21-1920 buried near Hedwig in grave 52. I see two Pauls on Findagrave. Do you have any dates or locations for Julia?

RE: Shawsheen Cemetery
Hello Edward

I know the pictures really didn't turn out well at all. The day was dark, rainy, and the glare of the flash seemed to bleach out the dates.

What I can do is this, The next time I drive through Bedford, I will stop by and take another photograph for you. I know how distance makes these things difficult to work with, but I will help.

I am sorry I haven't checked my inbox in a while, but glad I did today!

Take care and talk soon.

PFC George F Joyce
Sorry I did not know him. Discovered his information, while doing research on the Korean War. Also his place of death was near Kwachon North Korea...and not in South Korea.
