Bio Photo My Grandmother was a historian and genealogist. She wrote and published our family genealogy to before the 1630's in New England. She inspired me to continue her work, which has lead to 'ancestor hunting' and photographing some CT Cemeteries.

I noticed you put a picture up. What do you know about this family. I have other Roots in the same area and haven't been able to connect them.

Thanks

re- Ashbel Upson

I've also added Ashbel's headstone photo barely legible, but it is Ashbel's. Can't expect much for a monument that's nearly two centuries old ;o)

Unfortunately, there's no date-of-birth on the stone; I'd estimate it at 1763, given the age if you have no other documentation to go on.

re- Harley Norton
I have added a grave-photo to this memorial, as was requested and also added the same photo to your memorial for Harley's wife.

You may want to consider updating the personal info for both (i.e. dates of birth, which appear on the headstone).

Regards,
RonC

You are welcome. I also posted a copy of a newspaper article of her 68th wedding anniversary with documentation (not proof) of children's names. Thanks for the DAR lineage information that you sent me, too.

RE: Olive Bassett
Hello,
I will but I will have to figure out how to. Should I just delete them?

Yes, it is very difficult to read - many of the headstones in that cemetery are unfortunately. The best I can make out is that there is a Robert listed near the bottom. I no longer live near that cemetery otherwise I would offer to go back at a different time to photo it again. You might want to put in a photo request for another photo of the headstone. Sometimes if the photo is taken with the right lighting, you can pick up more on the headstone.

HI Celinda, Thank you for the lends of the Frisbie/Chatfield/Higgins and Munson pages. Everyone is updated, linked, and returned to you. I requested photos for all the pages too. It was fun working through the family puzzles.
The best to you, Catherine

Beach Memorial
Looks like their children are named on the sides and on the back is more ? but could not read as it was in deep shade and what little light reflects from the stone.
