I have been studying the genealogy of our family for over 30 years. My mother-in-law got me seriously interested in genealogy by giving me the book "History of the Hershey Family" by Scott Funk Hershey. The book traced the history of the Hershey family. She is listed in the book and it followed her direct line, as well as others, back to the 1600's. I am in the process of updating that book for my family. In addition to Hershey, our family includes the Kellogg, Corrie, Johnson, Nickerson, Cheney, Rees, Poppen and Albrecht families to name only a few, some famous and a couple infamous. We are connected to a lot of families buried in the Wabash Presbyterian Church Cemetery, where my mother-in-law is interred along with her parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. Other family members direct and indirect are interred in cemeteries located in Crawford, Edwards, Lawrence, Richland and Wabash counties in Illinois as well as in South Dakota, New York, Indiana, Kansas, Ohio and other states and countries.

Some of the information/obituaries I post on my memorials, or pass on to other contributors, may be found in the Lawrence County (IL) Public Library's genealogy department.

I am happy to transfer any memorials that are not a part of my family.

I am back in Lawrenceville, Illinois for awhile and I am also back on line.

looking for family
My husband is the son of Mary Ellen Given. (her mother Alice and father Conrad Given) Her brother was or is William A Given. My husband had never seen a picture of his mother till I found her obit 3 days ago. He was raised by his father. He now knows he has 2 brothers and 2 sisters out there. Don't know if there living or passed. I have stared looking here. http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=130752319 and am new at all this. If you have the time and it looks like something you might like to look into. Feel free to look. After this I am going back to the mystery of who my grandfather was. Long story there. :)

Saint Vincent dePaul Highland Cemetery
You have a couple of memorials in the wrong cemetery. Saint Vincent dePaul Cemetery, is a small cemetery with less than a dozen graves and has not been used in years. Highland Cemetery about a quarter mile east of the church - also known as Saint Vincent dePaul Highland Cemetery, is active larger cemetery. This is were the graves are actually located.

Mary Jane Fox
I believe her mother was Sisan Martin Fox who died in 1856 and Mary was born in 1854. Hiram did not marry Jane McFarland until 1865. Find A Grave #17194520
