Thank you for posting the decorative grave maraker of August Bromelsick on "Find a Grave."
I am interested in the Bromelsick family, who were prominent in Lawrence and whose homes still stand in the city. Their Quantrill Raid survival story, researched by Barbara Brackman, is quite fascinating.

Probably your nearest copies of PETEFISH FAMILY IN AMERICA by Ruth L. Lepper are in libraries at Kansas State Historical Society; Meade Co. Library at Meade, KS; and Wichita City Library. Mr. Denardo,since I am not an up-to-date user of the latest technology,I do not have a web-page or put my genealogy on-line. I placed my books in numerous state libraries across the country, and you can find them described by entering my name on Goggle. I gave credit within the script for those who gladly shared information. I did my books as a hobby and in memory of my ancestors. They are copyrighted. I sold them to family members across the nation at cost.
I have not given permission to Ancestry or Salt Lake City or any other website for their use, but, of course,I see pictures, etc. freely used by those who post on Ancestry.com and other websites, without any source named.There IS a copy of each of my collections in the Library at SLC.
That is why I wrote you a bit of explanation.
Now, for my use, I copied and pasted your picture of the gravestone in Word, and added the source with your name. I do not plan to use it in any publication, but of course, if that is unacceptable, I'll be happy to remove it.
If something happened to me, I can't be responsible, just as you can't be responsible for what happens to the postings on Find A Grave. I want to do the right thing.
I loved seeing the beautiful old stone, as my cousins had submitted the horrendous story of Capt. Short's massacre for my book. His brother was a Methodist Minister and President of the Female College here in my hometown. It was an interesting family for my genealogy.
Thanks again for your work at Find A Grave. I'm not too skilled in navigating through it, but I try.

I am so happy to see the graves and markers for the Short family. I published a genealogy of Oliver Francis Short's mother's side of the family,including the story of Captain Oliver Francis Short's massacre by Indians while he and his crew (including his son, young Daniel)were surveying in Kansas. The account, written and given me by a family member, was put in our family genealogy.
I understand completely how much time and effort one puts into this work and I want you to know how much I appreciate it. I have made a copy with your name attached and hope it will always be honored in that way. Thank you again.

Hi,
The memorial you placed on Findagrave for Glenn Frazier Jr is officially called a cenotaph. According to Wikipedia, a cenotaph is an "empty tomb" or a monument erected in honour of a person or group of people whose remains are elsewhere.
You should indicate that your memorial is a cenotaph in the first sentence of the biography that you put in for your memorial.
You may also want to add in the exact dates/places of birth and death, even though the memorial does not show the entire date. He was born February 20, 1926 in Athol, Smith County, Kansas, and died February 24, 1945 in Japan (the county listing does not include the Bonin Islands, which are a part of Japan).
