I think the Findagrave is a valuable tool and enjoy a good hunt! It's really all about all the volunteers that make Findagrave such a success. Also when I learned just how many graves are unmarked as well as how many stones deteriorate over time, I felt I had to do my part to help document those in my family at the very least. |
My interest in Findagrave is mostly genealogical. The links are my favorite part because you can just click through the generations and different family surnames to get a great visual of how everyone fits into the family. Thanks to anyone who has accepted my requests for family links.
You may use photos I have posted as you wish.
Most of my memorials are my relatives but I am glad to make transfers if you are directly related, more closely related than I am and that you will be able to contribute more to the memorial. Please click "Edit" and Suggest a correction link to make requests.
I am also happy to add bios. Just please email what you want to add and be specific with names etc so that I may just copy and paste.

Wow - wonder how many more are dupes?? I was following the records. I always check before I add but when the name is spelled wrong - you can't double check everything. Deletion made. Barb

I added the bio you sent to Clara's memorial.

Good morning Kelly, that memorial was a mess, wasn't it? It should be fine now. Thank you for bringing it to my attention. Daryl
|Don Herring||Griffin Family Relationship|
I note that you maintain several Findagrave memorials dedicated to members my family and suspect that we are somehow related. I am the great grandson of Hezekiah Griffin & Mary Jane Stevens Griffin. Would you mind sharing if and how we are related?
I look forward to your response.

Thank you for the information. I will use it to full advantage.
Glen's wife's info came up twice on my page and I went in and deleted it so that may have been all the correction it needed.

The edit I just sent you linking Glen with his spouse, Eloise (162193612) is showing up twice on the Memorial page. They would get a kick out of it but I thought you would want to correct it. Bro. Norman was my pastor in Corpus for a number of years. Thank you for all you do for F.A.G and thank you for maintaining the memorial for Bro. Norman.

Kelly, I have tried to email you, but I'm unable to find your email address. The buttons on the Find A Grave and your homepage do not work unless one uses Outlook, which I do not. You sent me a communication via Find A Grave about James Barron (Find A Grave #160643288), or
You asked me two questions:
1) How do I know he died in Louisiana? I know this because of Union Parish LA court records. Here is a link to a transcription of the court records giving his location of death and exact date of death:
2) How do I know he was buried in the Good Hope Cemetery? James Barron does not have a tombstone marker in the cemetery, but his descendents believe him to be buried there. The cemetery is located adjacent to the Good Hope Primitive Baptist Church, of which James Barron was an early member and deacon. In fact, James and his wife joined the church a month after it was formed. James Barron's farm was located nearby.
Feel free to email me:

Kelly, I also tried to read/understand the epitaph
while I was taking the pictures but could not. I thought I could enhance the photo when I got it on my computer but still could not. It is not something I can assume because I have never seen any thing like that on another stone. Sorry. Please do let me know if you can figure it out.
Kelly K - I went to the cemetery today and took a picture of both headstones, side by side. There is not a lot to see but I'm happy to send them to you if you give me your email address. I also went to the offices of city government. For some reason their records do not indicate who purchased the lots but both were purchased on the same day, Dec. 8, 1898. Good as a smoking gun for me.
